Looking for a "smooth" entrance to Bourbon

I’m by no means a pro or sophisticated bourbon drinker, I prefer Makers Mark, myself, but my wife and I completed the bourbon trail on our honeymoon, and we sampled from 7 distilleries and some had two or 3 different grades, and of them all our two favorites were the Four Roses Small Batch...

    some suggestion

For a quickie you might try an AF Hemmingway Short Story, or an Oliva Serie Special G. Also, as mentioned the Punch line is pretty good, I’m fond of the After Dinner Maduro. Another that might be on the list is something form the Partagas Line, again I prefer the black. But as someone...

    Kentucky Bourbon Trail

If you plan on going to all of the distilleries, pick up a Bourbon Trail Passport at the first one, and have all of them stamp it, supposedly they will give you a shirt or something. Also, Makers Mark dose have Cigars available, however, they are expensive, and not in a humidor.

    Kentucky Bourbon Trail

Well, I haven’t been around much lately; I’ve been busy at work, with new responsibilities, and also at home with my recent wedding. So, I figured I’d drop in and catch up a little, and this seamed to be the right forum for this, if not please move. Anyway, my wife and I decided that for our...

What do you older Gorillas Think?

And if you’re real generous, you could make it $1.41, that way he can measure length as well, as a $1 bill is 6inches long. So, with proper folding you can get pretty accurate in 2 inch increments, if you’re good maybe 1 inch.

    Strange cigar sighting

That is odd, I was in a gas station in Mulberry, Indiana, well several times in the last month, and they too have “premium” Cigars on the counter, however, at least these are Gurkha Grand Reserve, in the tubs, with the Gold (Makers Mark like) wax tops. Oh and get this, they are only $16 each...

The NC what did you buy today thread

Well, today I have been to two B&M, one on the way to work, and then I slipped out for a break to go to the other one, as the first one I went to no longer carries Camacho, and I had a sudden urge to pick up some Camachos, as I’m running low. But anyway here’s the list; 2 – Oliva Serie V...

    Steak Cigar

Man, I totally forgot about Camacho, those are very good also. I can’t believe I forgot about them, and I’ve been smoking a lot of the Camacho Coyolar Puro Perfecto #1 lately, a short smoke but very tasty. I have yet to try the torpedo size, however, I bet they would fill the bill after a nice...

    Steak Cigar

I’m with all the LFD Double Ligero Chisel. I’m also quite fond of the Habana Leon Torpedo, the only place I’ve found them is Cigar King, but they do have a bit of bite, or more of a kick, not really a bite, they are smooth, yet powerful. Then I also like the Oliva Series V Figurado, for me it...

    Storing metal tin cigars

Also it depends on how many tins you will be buying, and how you feel about expanding. I use a Rubbermaid (actually I think it is a Zip-Lock) container, that is about 8 inches wide by about 12 or 14 inches long and about 2 or 3 inches high, with some humidity beads as a overflow/camping...

    Pinar Habanitos

So, I’m posting this here, because it’s not a proper review, but rather an observation. Read it was too cold out to really take the time to do a review, and I will do one later, but I had to share. So on my way to work today, I decided to stop by the local B&M and pick up a couple super...

    A Penny for Your Thoughts

My thinking is that personally I didn’t care for the Fuente cigars when I was a beginner, wile I now appreciate them much more, with the exception of the Short Stories. I would go with something that is flavorful, but not too spicy, that might turn him off, the MX2 is a tasty choice, or the...

    Tobacco Lover

Well, I have been a long time user of dip and chaw, I started at around 14 or 15 and I’m 30 now, and have quit for the most part for about a year, during those years I tried to stop by starting smoking cigarettes, that was short lived, but I continued smoking cigarettes for a couple years in...

    Strong Cigars

My suggestions are; Oliva Serie V Habana Leon These are the two that have given me a bit of the nicotine buzz, and coming form a person who has used dip and chewing tobacco for around 15years off and on not many cigars can give me that buzz.

    $160.00, What do you do?

Personally I’d pick up the Tatuaje email Sampler from Tinderbox for $40ish, plus shipping, then I would fill the fuel tank on my truck for $90ish, give or take the current level of greed from the fuel companies, and the last $20ish would probably go towards a couple energy drinks the next two...
