How do you try out new cigars?

Ideally, I'd like to try 2 or 3 before making a final decision, but it depends on price. Several months ago I bought two San Cristobal by Don Pepin. The plan was to age them five months, then my friend and I were going to smoke them on the first Saturday of college football season if both our...

    La Rosa Especial

I bought a box on closeout from JRs last week. A box of 20 (6 x 52) for $29.99 I wasn't expecting much, but it was actually very good. Medium-to-full. A little spiciness in the flavor. Great burn. I think once these get a little age on them, they may turn into something very, very good.

    Famous Hondurans?

I'm about 3/4ths the way through a bundle. They are enjoyable mild cigars. Some are pretty good, others taste kind of cheap. But only a few duds out of the 15 or so I've smoked.

    Camacho 1962 Robusto

I bought a bundle in December. Weren't my cup of tea. Too mild, bad construction, and generally tasted like :BS I have one or two left and I'm waiting to see if a year of aging will improve them.

Carribean Cruise and two days in Miami.

I don't know. I got to Little Havana at 3 pm on a Saturday afternoon, ate a leisurely lunch at a nearby cafe, then sauntered over to the Pepin factory. Only to discover, to my dismay, that the Pepin factory closes at 4 on Saturdays. They were locking up as I was coming out of the cafe, so I...

Carribean Cruise and two days in Miami.

After you visit Pepin, make sure you look in the El Titan de Bronze factory. It's right across the street, katty-corner from Pepin's place. Say hello to Carlos and make sure you pick up a rew Redemption Sungrown Toros. May be the best kept secret in Little Havana.
