Thanks for the comments guys. It was a helluva lot of work, so I'm not eager to do more projects anytime soon - that includes trying to sell the missus on more space for cigars. For now it's time to get smoking!!! :ss
Tom, I had problems viewing your pictures, but I'd be interested to see what you've done.
As for the slots, I used a hand held router. After a bit of experimenting I created a jig and screwed it to my workbench. The jig basically allowed me to only move my router up and down 3 inches or so...
Thanks again all for your input. I've finished the drawer. If you are interested check out pics of the completed humidrawer in this thread: http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?p=1795517#post1795517

Well, the project is finally finished! I seasoned the drawer over that last week or so and it seems to be holding RH just fine. Here are some pics of the finished product.
Thanks for your interest.
Here's a good CS reference on how to freeze.

...double bag, place in fridge for 1 day, freezer for 3 days, fridge for 1 day, room temp for 1 day.
Shilala answered my question via PM. I got the beads from him. He recommended keeping them out of the humi until the seasoning is complete. I'm posting this in case anyone has the same question down the road.
happy smoking.
Thank again everyone for your input on this. I'm finished the humi project (finally) and it's being seasoned as we speak. I'll post some pics once the seasoning is done.
Chris, herf anytime with you bro. Come on down to the big smoke and let's get at it.
excuse the thread jack, but i'm also seasoning a new humi and just wondering about seasoning with beads. Is it ok to season with a shot glass of distilled while the beads are in the humi - or - should the beads only be added after the rh has stablized?
