Is it possible to bring back a dried out humidor?

The short answer is yes. Do to the nonuse I would suggest sanding lightly just to open the grain. Wipe out the dust with a damp rag or sponge. Do NOT put anything on the wood unless it is distilled water. I would suggest not putting anything on it at all and just use the bowl of water for a...

    Taking down my Walkin Humidor

The halogen lights that I bought also have a UV filter on them as well. So I guess that will help. Also I figure with the dimmer and the fact that I'm not going to leave them on for long periods of time.. I should be fine. It will be for the walk by in the night to see how they are doing in...

    Taking down my Walkin Humidor

I've seen mold grow on cigars at 65% so I figure it will grow on sheetrock and other things as well, so that's why I opted for WR sheetrock. I will concede the halogen lights for the LED's on a small space - you guys are probably correct about the heat and UV, I leave my boxes closed so it has...

    Taking down my Walkin Humidor

Unless you leave the lights on for extended periods of time, I don't know that it will make a difference. I use hallogen track lights in mine but rarely leave them on for more than 10 minutes at a time. They work great. One other thing you may want to do is use moisture resistant sheetrock...

    Los Blancos cigars

In our litle section onf the jungle both lines are represented by TriStar. There is no relationship between the two manufacturers other than that though. I like the Criollo line, but the others are a little to mild for me. The good news for the full body smokers out there though is David (the...

Cyber Herf IX - The Blind Cyber Herf

Sorry to be the last one here again. I ended up having to wait until today to try this cigar. Appearance: Nice evenly colored - medium brown wrapper with a rustic look. Kind of oily sheen with some very pronounced veining. Firm to the touch and a pleasant aroma. Smoke: From the start, this was...

Maybe I was wrong about Perdomo

No, they are one and the same. I like a couple of Perdomos. Lot 23, de Silva, and the old P square line.

    Pepin no longer rolling Padilla

Wonder if we are hearing the same stories from the same people? But you are correct, I've been hearing this for almost a year now, they were supposedly just waiting for the current contract to end.

Anti-tobacco activists trying to link Cigars to Kids!

Unfortunately, they are not going after the folks you know then. But there is a whole lot of'em out there that this is very effective with, especially when it's about the "children".

    cigar storage question

I agree. As for the lower himidity. It would depend on how long the sticks were stored in this condition. The longer time, the less likely they'll be able to be revived. And even if you could nurse them back, the taste , due to the loss of essential oils, would be greatly affected.

Have you ever tossed a $15+ cigar?

Both sizes of the ESG went out the window as did one or two others. Life's to short to fight through a problematic cigar. If Henry's tool doe'st fix the problem the first time, out it goes.

    indian tabac classic tomohawk

One of my first box purchases, kind of a sentimental favorite. But hey, if you don't like them, send them to the troops. I ordered a couple of boxes just for that.
