I grabbed a handful of these back in October and I finally got a chance to light one up.
First off, it has nice dark color with a decently oily wrapper. Pre-light aroma is fairly light... a bit surprising given it's "look." It had been sitting in my desktop humi at about 70 degrees, 60-62%...
I know I seem to review cigars that have been discussed to death, but I'm a relative newcomer and like to try cigars with a good consensus.
First off, after smoking this cigar, it has moved up to the front of my go-to line. This is a great cigar with impeccable construction and it smelled great...
I finally got a chance to use mine the other day... Man! I can't believe I've been missing out on these precision cuts.
You know that scene from Goodfellas where Paulie is slicing the garlic with a razor blade? That's exactly what cutting a cigar with a palio is like. As the draw got tougher...
Another review about a cigar that's been well-covered, but I always like to offer my take and receive feedback.

Felipe Gregorio Torp
Perdomo Reserve (white label)
5 Vegas Gold
5 Vegas Classic
Should I just gift these if I wasn't too enthusiastic about the Fonseca Classic...
I actually enjoyed the Cubano Limitado put out by Fonseca, and though I didn't mention it in the review, the Fonsecas are up there in terms of even burn and sturdy ash. Neither of the ones I've smoked have needed any touch up and the ash hung on for dear life.
I was looking forward to a cigar last night and had a random Fonseca Classic sitting in my humi from about 2 months ago when I purchased a sampler. It's a lot lighter in color than what I've found myself drawn to after several months of smoking cigars on a regular basis, but I decided not to...
Road trips are awesome... I used to go on at least a couple a year back in the day. Looks like you had a blast. Sorry to hear about the layoff, but I'm sure something bigger and better will float your way :ss
I find myself gravitating towards the sun grown and maduro wrappers. Though every now and again, a Connecticut will impress me... the Cusano 18 being the most recent.
