I disagree about Pepins. Maybe one tastes like some CC to somebody. I have found that many different NCs reminded me of one or another CC, but I don't remember the specifics. I have even found a bundle cigar I thought would fool a smoker in a blind taste with a cuban cigar if the cap were cut...
This stuff is REALLY GOOD! I had a friend bring some back from Costa Rica and forgot the name of it. After searching around on the web I ended up here at CS! I should have looked here first.
I almost always drink my whiskey neat, too, but on a hot day while sitting outside smoking a stogie I might have it on the rocks with a splash of sour. It's refreshing that way.
I like cigars with that fresh taste. Your taste may vary. I just don't like them damp or they burn badly and taste wrong. When I get one fresh that I want to smoke soon then I roll it in my fingers and get a feel as to how dry it is and if I think it's too wet, but I want to smoke it anyway...
I just finished a corona and really loved it. Better than a Decade IMO. Great finish. I think I like the OWR better, but I haven't smoked one recently enough to compare. A bit mild but very flavorful is a good description.
