Guilty pleasure of and evolving Newbie

:r Nearly exactly what I said about the KubaKuba: "It's like licking gogo dancer panties soaked in head shop lamp oil" "Drug Store Perfume": http://www.top25cigar.com/reviewdatabase/reviews_byuser.asp?CigarID=5528&UserID=2011

    Wireless Digital Hygrometer

One thing to consider is whether or not they're expandable. I'd recommend a system that supports at least two or three sensors. I have two humidors and a coolerdor. The ability to monitor all three from one station offers some very nice peace-of-mind.

    BUGATTI Lighters

Same manufacturer as Lotus and Porsche, so far as I know. I own a PD5 and a PD6 and love them both.

    Shilala Beads

:r Scott, I didn't realize that the beads HAD a setpoint. I guess it's presumably as a byproduct of their manufacturing method. If that's correct, then I "get it". What didn't make sense until the above post was that I was unaware they had a setpoint at all. Thanks!

    Shilala Beads

Ok, I have to confess I'm a bit confused. It sounds as though there's no specific setpoint, and that it's all based on the beads ability to absorb and desorb to mainain equilibrium. So, what I'm seeing here is that there's nothing to prevent the beads from continuing to absorb humidity from...

    The REAL Dog Rocket?

Haven't tried those, but ask Virtual Smitty or Red Baron about Toscanis. Looked and tasted like shrivelled mummy dicks, if you ask me.

    Copper lined humidor question

I'd say that it's a worthwhile project for the nostalgic and sentimental value alone. Why not go ahead and refinish, and if for some reason it doesn't hold RH, then as Croatan suggested, it'll make a first-rate accessory box.

Scott, you have a website we can order from? I've been using Viper's beads with great success for two years, now, but I'd like to experiment with something else. Also, can you discuss or point to how one fixes the RH setpoint? I'm a 65% kinda guy myself.

    Maria Guerrero Classic Toro !!

+1. Got a MG from the NST many, many moons ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the truly great smokes and very under-rated. The robusto is nice, too. I found hints of caramel in there. Just a great tasting smoke. Period.

New Humi RH Wont go below 70%

Quitcherbitchin, take a chill pill, have a drink, light a cigar, and thank heaven for the advice from experienced smokers here at ClubStogie. I've had my ass saved on more than one occasion by many an experienced Gorilla.

New Humi RH Wont go below 70%

There's your answer. You have a humidor full of cigars that were likely kept at the store at 70RH. I know I've said this previously but perhaps you missed it. In a closed environment it can take weeks into months for inventory to reduce to a lower RH. Just as a humidor is intended to keep...

Do you still have cigars in there?

    [need advice] social smoking?

On behalf of obnoxious prick salesmen types everywhere, I'll not take offense to your remark. :D I think you've gotten some good advice here so far. I'd have handled it a couple different ways depending on the scenario. 1) My first choice, take it and say "Thanks, I'll save it for this coming...

    T25C Photo: Whodat?

Scary, 'cause in this picture, he looks like my cousin who I've not been in touch with for years (family problems) but I understand has gained a boatload of weight. Thanks.
