what about the cooling units that vinotemp sells, granted they start around $700 but they say the unit are meant to go into wine cabinets. I have a bigger cabinet and have been thinking about it, but for 700 dollars I could just buy a 50+ vinotemp to keep my cigars in.
I too like pipes and pleasures there pipe selection is great. I just bought one of there own S&R brand pipes, plus they have a full davidoff line and usually have Opus X's.
If everything was built with spanish cedar, which I am sure it is, the wood is already kiln dried so it does not need to be baked. I smell will die down over time anyway, so I say put some cigars in there and see what happens.:2
I have several pounds of beads in my cabinet humidor and over time they have taken on the smell of cedar. My guess is if you just keep the vanilla cigars around the beads for a week or two you'll be fine. I think I am going to have to try da klugs recharge method.:ss
