I have a ceramic cutter. It does not work very well. It looks like that one pictured, above, cutting the Cohiba. That single blade action just squishes cigars.
Two things I've learned about the Butterbean: It's funny looking, but tasty. And, if hit by one, it's best to fall down very fast after the first punch.

Looks like they just sell boxes. But a couple dollars cheaper than JR. Don't know about the shipping costs at this place.
But then wouldn't you just toss them? Oh well, I have no glass tubes in which to start a beetle farm, which might be a fun think for the kids, now that I think of it. ;)

That is one reason for purging, to heat the core, even out the burn, and burn off any half-burned tobacco and residual gunk that has been collecting.
You must be creating some kind of break in the burn, but it seems this has never been a problem for most. :confused:
I think club soda might add that something extra and as long as you're adding another teaspoon of sugar to yours, the ratios might still be OK with some extra bourbon too. Most recipes suggest powdered sugar, but probably because they're made on the fly. Otherwise, there's not much to mess with...
