They are good smokes, but only the new edicion especial is being rolled in Pepin's factory in Nicaragua, the originals are rolled in Honduras. They are owned by Robert Levin, the same guy who owns Ashton, San Cristobal, and Holt's.
In my experience, all RP seconds are so money. Some of them might not be the best looking, but I've yet to have a plugged stick or one that didnt taste exactly like its banded counterpart. I've had the Vintage 2nds the Edge off color and a few different x-outs.
Is that little slit a fuel window or just an aesthetic detail? Also, any word on gas consumption? I really like that you don't have to get your finger close to the flame, as the one drawback to the jetlite is it gets a bit hot after a little. For ~15 it seems like a steal if it has longevity.
I want to preface this review by saying that I'm not the biggest fan of Pepin's cigars; of the handful I've had none of them ever really struck my fancy.
The JJ Robusto I smoked tonight came from a five pack I got off of Cbid about six months ago or so. I've had one from this fiver a while back...
