    Holt's Shorties

In my current quest for inexpensive everday cigars I believe I have found another gem. I bought a box each of the maduro and natural and just ordered some more of the maduro. This is a great little smoke for the morning drive to work. Medium bodied with a slight sweetness, delightful. They come...

    Rocy Patel The Edge Corojo

I tried one of the maduros last night. My first Rocky Patel. Frankly, not much to recommend it. Construction, draw and burn were excellent, but an uneventful smoke with a short, somewhat bitter finish. The only bright side was the Jefferson Small Batch Bourbon that I sipped along with it. It...

I have been touting this line of cigars in general lately and thought it was time to do a specific review. I enjoyed this lovely cigar on my front porch with a J&B and soda. Nice combo. This cigar is dark and oily with a beautiful wrapper. Unlit aroma is earthy and deep. I clipped it and just...

    el rey del mundo

I have always loved ERDM's. A real classic. A nice medium/full bodied cigar that is well balanced. Frankly, I think balance is what is missing in many of the newer high octane smokes. Thanks for posting the review. I will have to dig one out for tommorrow.

    How well-known/respected is Sosa?

Sosa has been around a very long time. Many years ago I had one of their Jeroboam (spelling?) cigars which was a mamouth figurado that came in it's own single wooden box. The cigar is long gone, but I still have the box. Good company, good cigars.

    Strong cigars?

I feel as if I have been in some kind of time warp. Over the last 10 - 12 years I have almost solely smoked ISOM's. I just about completely lost touch with the rest of the cigar market. Recently I have returned to the world of DR, Honduran, Nic. etc. First of all I feel like a newbie. The array...

    Rocy Patel The Edge Corojo

What a shame. The first photo looked really beautiful. It is hard to enjoy a cigar when it has construction issues. Thanks for the review.

    Top Hat

Top Hat Coronas from Holts has become my daily go to cigar. I am on my third bundle and have stashed a few more bundles away. I have found this to be a very consistent and pleasing smoke. The construction is very good, nice draw and a pleasant unlit aroma. This is a medium bodied cigar with a...

    Evolving or Devolving?

Although I never would have admitted it at the time I believe that I developed a bit of snobbery over the years regarding cigars. I would have defended my choices of cigars with vigor referencing my educated palate and the quality of the cigars that I smoked. However, I also must confess to...
