    Macanudo 1968 Robusto

I had the Toro last night at a tasting at the local B & M. I did find it to be a full bodied cigar but the flavor was a bit lacking. I really could not get a handle on what flavors there were, they were just too small to make anything stand out. Burn, draw and appearance were spot on, though. I...

    Odd Ammonia Taste

See if you can't get some pieces of cedar and wrap them in it. The cedar will tend to help draw out the ammonia. I have had the same problem with the Sancho Panza Extra Fuerte Madrid and found that letting them rest 3 -6 months does remove most of the ammonia taste.

    Mild cigars tasting the same.

Yes, I too have found that many mild cigars taste similar. I guess when going for a certain strength you have to narrow your focus on what sort sort of leaves you use. I used to like mild cigars, but after a while, they just got to be too bland to me.

    La Aroma de Cuba

I just tried these this past weekend for the first time. The flavor was rich and the cigar smoked smooth and even. Only problem with them was that one would not stay lit as it came down to the band. But I like them!!! More sliding down the slope for me. Now I will have to figure out how I can...

    Ron Centenaro XX

I have no problem here in Louisiana finding this rum. I did, however, have to go looking for my bottle of Zacapa.

    What was your first cigar?

My first cigar was a Punch Rothschild Maduro

    Fonseca Cubano Limitado Toro Gordo

I have tried this cigar also. I believe it is a decent cigar but could use some aging to mellow it out some. This is not your typical Fonseca cigar in that it is a rather strong, full-bodied cigar.

    Great deal at JRCigar

I recently received their catalog and, while only okay, this time they had something that really caught my eye. They have boxes of Ramon Allones cigars at a 20 dollar discount from their already low prices. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a box of 20 Briosos for 40 bucks. These babies are...

Just had my first Bolivar today and wow!

I have tried the Bolivars and they are a bit too strong for me. But, then again, I tried them when I first started smoking cigars so the results may be different now.

    Large Ring Guage

I guess I would have to say I like medium ~~ 48 ring gauge cigars. Too large and I don't feel comfortable smoking them. But if they are too small ~~ 40 ring gauge then they really don't have enough flavor to satisfy me. Als I have noticed that smaller ring gauge cigars tend to have more...

    Aah Fall Has Arrived

Up here in Baton Rouge, it's also been awesome weather. In the 60's at night, it's perfect cigar smoking temperature. I love it. :ss

    Arrhythmia ruining my hobby :(

Are you on beta blockers? I know there are plenty of meds out there that prevent, or diminish PVCs (Poly Vinyl Chlorides?).

    unique cigars

I always have felt that a Fuente 8-5-8 Natural has a flavor shared with no other cigar. And I like it.
