A cigar out of the cello can touch the tube without a problem. Just make sure that you have dried the plastic tube off thoroughly when you have re-hydrated the beads.
Shake out the worst of the "dust" over a trash can then hydrate the beads to roughly 80-90% of the beads are clear and put them to work.
Some times the beads get a little beat up in shipping but they will stil work just as well.
The minumum recommended is 1/3 pound per 50 quarts but the more you use the better. A full pound would work well, split it in two half pound bags and put one bag in the bottom of one end and the other in the top of the other end. This will help balance the cooler rh.
As soon as the beads become clear they have absorbed all they will, remeber to leave a few white. I would not leave the bowl in with them beyond that point since standing water has a tendancy of encouraging mold. As long as the beads are in a airtight container they will not give off their...

The product I sell is a pre-conditioned silica bead.
I need to point out that what Shilala is talking about is not the product I sell.
There is no conditioning step with my product and the rh cannot drift from the preset level no matter what rh is in the container you put them in. My beads cannot be conditioned to a different rh level.
I don't...

Gotta say this is the first time I have been asked if icebrg water is good to use. I have to assume that there are minerals and such in iceberg water just like there is in any water but I have no idea if there is or not.
I'll make you a deal...as long as you are up there and use iceberg water...
