UPS shipments from CBID - Damaged?

Just got a package Monday and everything in great shape, as usual. I think UPS gets very different levels in quality of employees depending on the location. Up here in rural Vermont a UPS job is cosidered a "GOOD" job, not so much so in Greater Boston. I'm sure that has an effect upon the...

    Cheaper Cigars

Since you like Gurkha Symphony and RP Connecticut I think you will like 5 Vegas Gold. They can be found on C-bid, (as well as Cigar International and cigar.com). The Robustos usually retail for around $50 per box of 20 but the average price on C-Bid, (acording to CHIMP) has been about $33.23...

Where do you get cigars from?

No local B&M's up here in rural Vermont and the drug store/convenience store smokes just don't cut it, so most all of my purchases are online.

What is Your Favorite Cigar Size?

Smoked nothing but Robustos for a long time, I like the ring gauge, most yield a 45 min to 1 hr smoke and the flavor has a chance to become self evident in this size without the smoke becoming too hot. I have switched to Toros in the last year or so because I'm cheap and like the extra length

    My RedSox at Yankees daytrip

Sounds like a nice trip. I 'm glad you got to see the evil empire go down to our beloved Sox in the stadium before they demolish the place.

Do you still use CBID ?

I've evolved to a strategy of simply placing an auto-bid for the max I'm willing to pay, (and I always consider shipping costs when figuring that price) and then ignore the site until notified whether I won or lost. I NEVER change my max auto-bid as I figure the cigar I want will come up again...

    Do you hate Drew Estates?

Generally I like the Drew Estates for a change of pace, especially the Natural line. The Acids can be a bit overwhelming. My favorites are: CI's Legend - Copper Clean Robusto Kuba Kuba Pimp Stick

Natural by DrewEstate - Clean Robusto

Nice review, I recently finished a fiver of these and would add that they are very consistent from stick to stick. A nice change of pace if you have a sweet tooth.

    Mild but flavorful.

I echo the the sentiments for 5 Vegas Gold, also try Rocky Patel Connecticut and Gurkha Symphony

Best way to smoke a cigar

Best: With some friends and a nice Manhattan out in the screenhouse in my back yard. Slow easy draws on the cigar, holding smoke in the mouth for a few seconds before blowing out long, luxurious plumes of smoke interspersed with sips of my cocktail. Goal is to finish drink and cigar at same...

    5 Vegas?

From CigarFan : " The 5 Vegas brand (supposedly pronounced “Cinco Vegas”) has an interesting history even though it hasn’t been around very long. It was created in the boom years by World Cigars, Inc., and produced by Kiki Berger in Esteli, Nicaragua. The name evidently came from a story about...

    I feel betrayed, would you?

Yes, you're right. I apologize for taking the wrong tone. I really just wanted to emphasize that I think he should be talking to the shop owner to try to resolve his issue.

    I feel betrayed, would you?

Communicate. Right there you had the opportunity to have a frank and open discussion with him about his policy and your feelings about it. Instead you chose to bitch about it here. No sympathy from me until you talk to the guy frankly and get his side of the story.
