Smoked my first Padilla today ... not impressed

Like other's here, I've found some Padilla sticks suit me better than others. The Hybrid is one that has left me rather unimpressed as well. I haven't had one for at least six months, and I gave several of them a whirl a while back. Maybe they'll pick something up now that they've sat a...

    Perdido Key, Fl B&M's

PM Svillekid. He was down in Gulf Shores last weekend and he might have an idea. The last time I was down there, I took a stocked gallon ZIP lock with me, so I didn't try any B&Ms.

    Famous Nicaraguan 2000 Robusto

The Famous line really are good values. The 3000s are easily as good as or better than a number of cigars I've had costing five times as much. The only one I've tried that I didn't care for was the Famous Oscuro that I bought a bundle of a while back out of curiosity.

    Anyone get good wallyworld cigars?

Actually... The Walmart in Destin, FL, used to have (and might still, but I haven't looked the last few times I happened to be in there) a small cabinet display humidor at the front of their store that held a rather modest selection of R&Js, the obligatory overpriced Cohibas, and some Fuentes.

    Mad at Carnival Cruise Lines

I have no problem with a business of whatever type being smoke-free. Business owners should have the right to determine this for themselves (but of course they don't in many places). The problem is the bait and switch they pulled here. They can call it a test or policy experiment or whatever...

    Victor sinclair?

VS Red Labels were the first sticks to get my attention when I picked up the hobby. I've actually had one or two VS which were memorable, but they seem quite inconsistent and I've moved in a different direction since anyway. The way I see it, try one: the worst thing that could happen is that...

    I want an A$$ Kicker

I'm a bit surprised someone hasn't suggested Chuck Norris. I hate to be unoriginal, but LFD, JdN, and a particularly strong Camacho have been the ones that have led me to the sugar bowl in search of relief. There was also that one Tat black label that I never finished last summer. I've pretty...

    Diamond Crown Maximus Toro #4

I'm always impressed with the quality and consistency of DCM. Just an excellent solid-tasting, well burning stick which I have a hard time letting sit for long in my humidor. Thanks for the review.

    Panama City, Florida

Thanks for bumping this jbudlives. I'll try out the PCB store the next time I get a chance. Destin is actually closer to 45 minutes west of PCB and probably an hour or more on a busy weekend. Highway 98 can be a bear close to Destin. That said, if you come down via the Mid-Bay Bridge, you...

    Favorite summer drink

I like my RO water out of my own faucet, if we are talking about purely refreshing summer libations. Hard to beat really cold water to quench the thirst. I like a dry ginger ale in the summer, too. In terms of adult beverages, I like a decent beer of either domestic or import origin that is...

    Hot sauce fans

You spice-loving brothers need to check out "Chile." It is a magazine devoted to the hot spice lovers of the world. They had a hot sauce issue a while back, but I don't recall seeing the Ass Reaper noted, but there's always next year.

    How was YOUR fishing?

Looks like a great time was had by all except the fish! My fishing went fine. I caught a Bonita off of Dauphin Island, Alabama, that was probably in the eight or nine pound range, and it was a fine fight. Water was a bit too rough for the size boat I was in and we didn't stay out all day so...

    How much Spitting?

I don't spit that much these days but there was a time when I did. Since I usually at least have a glass of water when I enjoy a cigar, I suppose I am with some of the others here inasmuch that I am probably just drinking away whatever aftertaste I might not like.

Decent cigar shops near DC Renaissance M Street?

Wow... This is all great info. Thanks to all. I think I'll print out a map and take with me. I'll probably have at least Sunday free so this will be a great way to spend it. Thanks again for the great suggestions.
