First off, let me say that I'm about 8 beers in to this review - "half in the bag" so to speak. I have never been a big Pepin fan (Tats excluded). i won't go into super detail b/c as stated IM DRUNK!, but here's what I think...
Pre-light - very Pepi-esque - if i didn't know any better i'd...
Double that on the Machitos. Awesome little buggers. Feels like you smoked a DC after your done its so bold. I found the Celebration coronas extremely bland by comparison, but I might have got a bad one b/c I've heard of others that like them as well.
I used to be in a similar situation w/ a neighbor downstairs from me in a condo. What I did was make makeshift ashtrays out of tin foil. When you're done, put the butt in and crunch it up. Every week or so I'd gather the balls of foil and put in a bag and throw them out. Worked pretty well.
I have a few:
Opus - People say these smell like cognac, but to me they smell exactly like that cinnamon rasin bread you had as a kid. Delicious.
Anejos - Similar to Opus, with a little cocoa thrown in.
LFD DL Chisel - Maybe my favorite. Sweet cedar mixed w/ Hershey chocolate smell.
LFD DL...
JdNA and Guinness go well together. The smokiness of the stout pairs well with the woodsy/leather of the antanos.
A good IPA (Saranac, dogfish) goes well with an Opus or LFD DL. The hoppy floral taste of the beer goes well w/ the cedary spice of the cigar.

Well, after smoking several different sizes of the Tat Havana's and loving them all, I decided to finally buy a box. I decided on the one size I hadn't tried yet (Angeles) mainly due to cost, but also b/c I love the pc size and heard all the great reviews about them.
Well, after letting them...
Great topic.
I've had a few of them, but by far my most memorable cigar was a Monte #2 I smoked back in 98' with my Dad and brother. Long story short, me and my brother were both living at home at the time and my Mother was away for the weekend, so the 3 of us decided to have a "Cigar-Fest"...
I could not agree w/ you more on the JdN Antanos. These are by far the best "overlooked" cigar out there. With a few months on them to take away the rough edges they are as enjoyable as any VSG I've ever had - and for less tha half the price. Strong as heck (if you like that), but more...
Makes perfect sense to me. I was actually thinking about posting a similar thread, but you beat me to it. For me, I like Nic puros better in the fall/winter months for the same reason you stated above - they have a fall-like earthiness that appeals to me more when its cold out (for ex. JDN...
Thanks for all the info guys!!! So what I'm getting from some of you is that you like to smoke your cigars at 60% or even lower? I keep my humi around 64% and find I like my cigars at no higer than 65%. Maybe I should try going to around 605 and see what happens??!!
Thanks.
Is it just a way of speeding up the process of drying out a wet cigar, like if you wanted to smoke one in the next day or so and don't want to wait for them to even out in the humi?
Ok, I'm a little emabrassed to admit I don't know what "Dry Boxing" is. I am guessing it is the proccess of leaving wet or "fresh" cigars in a cedar box, but out of the humidor for a set amount of time to help dry them out?
Whatever it is, can someone explain exactly why its done and what...
Interesting post, thanks. It has been my experience that for as much as I like reading CA, thier reviews are cr*p. I first realized this years back when the Onyx Mini Belicoso scored a 94. Went out THAT DAY and smoked one. (It was an 86 tops imo). There is no doubt in my mind that some of...
Don Pepin is obviously one of the hottest, if not THE hottest man in the industry right now. Like all of you, I have read countless articles and reviews about his cigars and every single one of them is positive. I am just wondering if ANYONE else out there is like me and not the biggest fan of...
