Strange happening while enjoying a stick

I've had outside environmental humidity (as opposed to humi humidity) ruin cigars before. Theyll come out the humi at perfect humidity but when they hit the 80% humidity outside and i try to light, it'll take a lot of puffing to keep them going and tunnelling occurs. The lit end of the...

    Cigars arrive with mold.

Has anyone ever smoked a mouldy cigar? I ask because i and everyone i see writing about mouldy cigars dismisses them as a bad smoke yet i, for one, have never smoked a mouldy cigar. I only dismiss them as its always been the consensus that a mouldy cigar is a bad cigar. I admit that mould...

J.L. Salazar Y Hermanos Reserva Especial

Great review - Salazars are one of the first cigars i started smoking and bought a box of (which i'm very glad i did). The Churchills are great in this range - as well as lookin the part they are a very satisfying cigar to smoke (feels substantial and gives a nice time to sit down and smoke)...

    Shipping to Europe?

If you can, you might want to edit that link as it shows a vendor for cuban cigars (against forum rules). With regards to the question, it depends what cigars you want - a vendor that ships cubans to Europe is very easy to find. see the sponsored links on CS or do a simple google search - many...

    Don Kiki Red

:tpd: anybody new to cigars could do a lot worse than take the above advice. Ive found CC to be a great company and those cigars are perfect to get started on - great value, well made and nice tasting. Great review of the DK Red as well - i've found them to be great for socialising when you...

    Coolerdor tetris players

If you really need to stack the boxes but have no spaces to put them in that will keep the lids automatically closed, consider nailing the boxes shut - carefully, using a tack type thing. Many of my cigar boxes have been shipped like that and its a good methos to keep the box nicely shut but...

Same cigar, slightly different shape... worth substantially different $$$ ?

When i first started purchasing i made the same 'value' mistake - i couldnt figure out why people would buy robusto cigars when for only $0.40 extra per cigar they could get the churchill variety, and 2 inches more tobacco. This was when i was buying cigars quicker than i smoked them and so the...

Battle of the Un-Habanos! Whats the best Puro?

I've not smoked that many Cubans (compared to most people here) although i would say that a high percentage of my smokes have been Cuban. On that note, i far prefer Nicaraguan smokes to Dom Rep ones - Fuentes have never really done it for me, whereas ive enjoyed many Nics.

    Cuban Crafters house brands?

The Cameroon is foul, the Cab Selection excellent and Salazars are good too. Only problem ive found with the DK Labels is sometimes theyre great, sometimes awful - too inconsistent.

    Purging cigars

Having just finished my first cigar for ages (due to ill health and exam revision), ive come to the realisation that i've never purged a cigar and had a satisfactory result. The taste post-purge on every cigar i've had, including the aforementioned one, has been more sour and generally harsh...

When is it time to give up?

I wouldnt worry too much, so long as hes enjoying whathe smokes, its all good. pkus he has a cheap hobby - id stick to what you like and let him stick to what he likes, he may come around a year down te line or never, but sounds like youll always be able to enjoy some sort of smoke together...

    Flavors.

I wrote this a while back when i was discovering different tastes. as has been said - tastes are very subjective, but i find it useful to have a starting point, so hopefully this will be helpful: http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=32070&page=3&highlight=flavours
