    Spanish cedar tray capacity

Nah, you're fine. I have some of those trays that fit about 35, I think I have 40 in one of them. Even if they go above the top part of the tray, it's not a big deal unless you stacked trays on top of them and they're being crushed. You should be fine.

Cigar international review/ Coffee Table Humidor review

It definitely is a very nice looking humi. I would probably get one for my living room if my living room didn't get so hot in the summer (no A/C). BTW, you can generally get these on CBid in the $300 range. You might even be able to arrange to pick it up from the warehouse directly instead of...

    Gispert? WTF?

Check your credit card. They can't charge until they ship, so you should see Gispert somewhere recently billing you. :)

    Blank cigar labels

I've been thinking about these lately. Was even thinking about organizing a GB for these. They certainly seem like they can come in very handy. :)

I am gonna be so busted.

Time to get a prepaid credit card so that you can slowly build it up and use it for "extra" purchases. :)

Hey guys, new, have a Q about my humidor

Some people open the cap, but leave the cigars in the tube. They leave the cap somewhere nearby so it's easy to put back together, and then use the tube as a protective layer to transport the cigar somewhere. Others leave everything as it is, and put the entire thing in the humi.

    Problems with cigar cutting

Yeah, but considering how much time the cigar is in our mouth, and the amount of saliva that gets on it, it seems that would dilute the glue more than a few-second lick. So I would think that the glue would be made to withstand saliva...

    Problems with cigar cutting

 Why is it unsanitary? Even if multiple people are using the cutter, I can't believe it's any worse than sharing a drink. I also don't understand how the glue is affected anymore by doing that than by putting it in your mouth to smoke it. Seems that you get a lot more saliva on the...

Hey guys, new, have a Q about my humidor

:tpd: "Seasoning" is done in order to put some moisture in the humidor -- but it's not about getting moisture in the air. It's about getting the spanish cedar to hold the right amount of humidity. This does a few things. One thing is it means that once the wood is full of humidity, it won't...

    Humidor Problem

You're correct. I suppose when I forget my 10th-grade chemisty lessons, I'm bound to be wrong. :) I guess my non-controlled experiments (i.e. shoving ice packs in and humidity drops, higher temperature yields higher RH) got me thinking one way and I stopped thinking about the math. :) As...

    Oh no...what have I done...

I bet you can get some really good deals if you buy them by the pallet. :)

    Humidor Problem

While I won't argue that some condensation could explain some of it, I also have experienced increased RH with increased temperature, with no additional humidity source to explain it. 65% beads was stable at 65% RH at 68-70 degrees. The temperature increased to 78-80 degrees, and the RH...

Broke down and purchased a Palio... From Cigarmony!

I PMed him with a couple questions, and he was top-notch with responding quickly and informatively. I ordered a couple Pucks and a Western Caliber III, and both arrived very quickly. If I remember correctly, I ordered them AFTER I won my humidor (ebay), and received the items from Mark before...

    Your go-to maduro

Right now it's the Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro. Cheap and reliably good.

    Humidor Problem

You can test it out easily. Go take a blue-ice cooler pack, wrap it in a towel, and shove it in your cooler/humidor. Go check it 10 minutes later. I bet the temperature and the RH have gone down. Check again in another 10 mintes. Bet they both went down further. :)

    Humidor Problem

How quick are these temperature swings? RH always drops w/ temperature, so if the swings are happening fast, the beads will take a bit of time to do their thing. If, on the other hand, the temperate swings are slow, and it sits for hours or days at a steady temp, and you see the RH...

    Cigars arrive with mold.

I think there are more than a few people here who have smoked a cigar that had mold on it. Just wipe it off, and light it up. BUT, if the mold doesn't wipe off, or if it's in the foot and not just on the wrapper, there's no reason to even try to smoke it. I've found mold on one cigar, a small...
