    My RedSox at Yankees daytrip

Next time you're in the city, hit De La Concha on 6th between 56/57th. Better selection of smokes than either JR or Davidoff and the customer service there blows both places away. They also have some seating, if you are so inclined.

    it was pretty but wow

I gotta say, I really like the Serie O Maduros. Almost as good as a PAM 64. (Fields are right next to one another iirc). Makes for a tasty morning smoke.

Is the 1926 #35 the best cigar under $10 in the world?

Honestly, while the 1926 #35 is an excellent cigar, in the NC arena, I'm going to have to cast my vote with the Padron 1964 Superior. Buying by the box, these run about $9 a stick, and are the most consistently enjoyable cigar I've smoked. Always well constructed and tasty. Go buy some today...

Is it ok to smoke stogies in your house?

Well, since my roommate smokes cigars as well, it's inside, it's outside, it's all over the apartment. Now if I could just get him to stop bumming my cigars...

Think I might have a beetle problem...

I did, and while there were a few that had small indentations in the foot, there was nothing large. I also checked all of them for dust coming out when tapped. Again, nothing. Be a bit messy though. Also needs 5 days at below freezing to kill eggs from what I understand. I'll just vacuum/blow...

Think I might have a beetle problem...

Ok, so now I'm really confused. I just went through everything in my humidor and not a single stick has beetle holes in it. I had a couple bundles I didn't go through stick by stick, but with no holes in the outer sticks or the plastic wrapping, I'd think they are good. Everything from that...

Think I might have a beetle problem...

Opened my humi this morning to grab a stick or two to take to work with me and saw something small and brown crawling about. Grabbed the stick it was on for a closer look, and just confirmed by checking out a pic at wikipedia. It was an adult beetle. Needless to say, I squashed that little...

Top 10 Cigars You Aren't Buying

:tpd: One of the best sticks I've had, regardless of price. The fact that they are so cheap just makes these a steal in my eyes. The Serie O Maduro are pretty damn good too.

    Why Spanish Cedar?

American red cedar is highly aromatic and not suitable for cigar storage. Your sticks will all taste strongly of it. I'd recommend against it very strongly. I don't know why it's even listed as an option on that page.

    Diamond Crown Maduro

So, I picked up a couple Robustos at De La Concha the other day and decided to give one a try last night. I'd been wanting to try this cigar for quite a while. I like the regular Diamond Crown and the Maximus, lots of flavor in both sticks, if a bit overpriced. This stick cost me 13.50 at the...

    Organization

Boxes in the cooler, singles in the humi, mostly. Everything is completely jumbled. That way I never know what I'm going to find if I go digging.

Looks like CT is following suit and trying to collect tobacco taxes

Well, they cite one person with an $1100.00 bill. Think about it for a minute, if you buy $200 a month of cigars over the internet, with the CT tobacco tax of 20%, you are talking about $40 a month, or about $500 a year. I don't know about you, but if I actually added up how much I've spent on...

    Single Malt Scotch of Choice

I just picked up a bottle of Laguvilin 16 after trying it in at a cigar bar in NYC. Tasty, tasty stuff. Might even be pushing out the Macallan as my new favorite.

    Single Malt Scotch of Choice

I just picked up a bottle of the Macallan cask strength a couple of weeks ago. It is tasty stuff indeed. I'm also a fan of the Macallan 18. I don't think the 25 is worth the money though. If I want to spend a bit less $$, I generally go for an Oban 14.

    Nat Sherman or Manhattan B&M?

De La Concha is better than Davidoff, J&R and Nat Sherman IMO. They were acquired by Davidoff late last year, but it's still all the same guys working there, very knowledgable and helpful. I've not been to Barclay Rex so I can't comment on them.

Palio doesn't suck! (A good customer service story)

Re: Does Palio suck? I actually had the very same problem with my cutter. They've actually changed the design on the new ones to prevent that from happening, although I don't think the initial release of the carbon fiber and burlwood included the change. It can cause the blades to separate...

    Cigars that get no love

The Oliva Serie O are one of my new favorite NC sticks. Great taste and an awesome price to go with it.

    padron 1926 or 1964 anniversaries?

Personally, I'd go with a box of the 64 maduro superiors. It seems to be a less popular size and goes for about 200, but they are, IMO, consistently my favorite size in the 64s.

    Can't buy Cigars with Paypal

Actually, from what I understand, paypal does not allow it's services to be used to purchase any tobacco products. If they find out you are using to buy or sell, they will do exactly that, cancel the account.
