Other than the size difference ... LINK I find the flavor profiles very similar. The US version might be just a touch fuller bodied + spicy ... where the Euro version is a tad creamier + sweeter. To me anyway .......

Actually that chart is a bit out of date. The tax rate is currently at 46.76% of the wholesale price. It was as the higher rate, but I believe it rolled back to the lower one in 2006. It's still rape - but at least they kiss us first. Here's a more current chart ... LINK

That would be truly sad ... as cigars are meant to be smoked. Just pick a special occasion like New Years day, Superbowl Sunday, the wedding of a good friend, birth of your first child / grandchild, the end of daylight savings, whatever ... and BURN THAT PUPPY! Either that or send it on...

I agree the quality and selection are first rate right now. Too bad the list of places to actually smoke them is dwindling each day ...

My first Avo 22 had over a year of age and was already a phenominal smoke. I don't expect the 787's to exactly rival the 22's. Heck, even when Avo attempted to duplicate the 22 blend, they came up short. I do expect that this will be another excellent cigar when aged though ... just...

I found them a bit more flavorful and sweet ... but it's been awhile since I had my last one. Smoking these is like sweet agony as you know there are only so many remaining.

Have you had the Euro version yet?

Thanks for the review. I agree that 787's would not be close to an Avo 22 right now ... but as the 22's are already 5+ yrs old, any comparison would not be fair. I plan on getting a box of these and setting them aside until 2010 or so.
