Saint Luis Rey Serie G - short robusto

I grabbed a handful of these back in October and I finally got a chance to light one up. First off, it has nice dark color with a decently oily wrapper. Pre-light aroma is fairly light... a bit surprising given it's "look." It had been sitting in my desktop humi at about 70 degrees, 60-62&#37...

I'll try to post pics with my next review. I can't help thinking about picking up a box of these...

Tatuaje Havana VI (red label) Robusto

I know I seem to review cigars that have been discussed to death, but I'm a relative newcomer and like to try cigars with a good consensus. First off, after smoking this cigar, it has moved up to the front of my go-to line. This is a great cigar with impeccable construction and it smelled great...

    Palio cutter group buy III

I finally got a chance to use mine the other day... Man! I can't believe I've been missing out on these precision cuts. You know that scene from Goodfellas where Paulie is slicing the garlic with a razor blade? That's exactly what cutting a cigar with a palio is like. As the draw got tougher...

    Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classics

I've found that all DPGs tend to have delicate wrappers. I just try to be more careful with them.

    Zippo Blu Lighter Received

Much props to Smokey Bob who went out of his way to send me his Zippo Blu free of charge. Drop him some ring gauge fellas! Thanks again! Chris

    Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label

Another review about a cigar that's been well-covered, but I always like to offer my take and receive feedback. Pre-light draw was surprisingly loose. The cigar had impeccable construction and had a nice aroma. I lit this with a butane lighter (a Zippo Blu... sent to me gratis by Smokey Bob, a...

    Fonseca Classic 5x50

Given that I didn't like the Fonseca Classic, I have a few other random cigars in my humi that I have some misgivings about: Felipe Gregorio Torp Perdomo Reserve (white label) 5 Vegas Gold 5 Vegas Classic Should I just gift these if I wasn't too enthusiastic about the Fonseca Classic...

    Fonseca Classic 5x50

I actually enjoyed the Cubano Limitado put out by Fonseca, and though I didn't mention it in the review, the Fonsecas are up there in terms of even burn and sturdy ash. Neither of the ones I've smoked have needed any touch up and the ash hung on for dear life.

    Fonseca Classic 5x50

I was looking forward to a cigar last night and had a random Fonseca Classic sitting in my humi from about 2 months ago when I purchased a sampler. It's a lot lighter in color than what I've found myself drawn to after several months of smoking cigars on a regular basis, but I decided not to...

    Roadtrip Return! **PICS**

Road trips are awesome... I used to go on at least a couple a year back in the day. Looks like you had a blast. Sorry to hear about the layoff, but I'm sure something bigger and better will float your way :ss

    I think...I'm not sure...I only like maduros?

I find myself gravitating towards the sun grown and maduro wrappers. Though every now and again, a Connecticut will impress me... the Cusano 18 being the most recent.

Arguments for/against smoking in public areas.

I dunno... As a physician I agree with no smoking in public areas. But that's just me. (Spoken as he steps into his flame-retardant suit)...

    Paying for samples?

That makes sense too... although if this is the case, the cigars available at the event shouldn't be called "samples."

    Paying for samples?

I thought the whole idea of samples in general is that they are free in exchange for gaining potential new buyers. Imagine if Costco charged for the food samples they give out on the weekends... what a ridiculous thought.

    Katy - Robusto's Cigar Lounge

I definitely want to check this place out. Are there areas where the cigar smoke is minimal (so I can take the wife and baby daughter)?

    pepper taste?

I'm a fan of spicy cigars too. During my brief time with cigars, I've found that cigars considered to be "strong" seemed to have more spice to them. Is this a true relationship or just a coincidental finding on my part?
