I think the issue goes beyond cigars. I used to shop at ebay a lot but now it's useless. Prices on stuff are still below retail but are often higher than Amazon and you're taking a chance on not even getting what you expected (obviously not an issue at cbid). I went to a charity cigar auction...
:tpd:
A Tat black tastes like an aged Cuban Partagas to me. It's really a perfect cigar without the hassles of waiting and legality issues.
And I agree with those who said Pepin...specifically the blue label. Ironically the black label (cuban classic) is very good but doesn't taste...
My biggest gripe with misconceptions is that an average Cuban cigar is automatically better than any non-cuban. Or even that a premium aged Cuban is better than a premium non-cuban. I know most of this is based in history and that CCs are 'forbidden fruit' but you would think the people in...
Yeah...I probably should've keep that post to myself. I was merely disappointed because I had such high hopes for the smokes as a result of the trade. When I think of the smokes that I let go to get the graycliff's a little tear came to my eye.
But that's why this hobby is so great, the...
I look at my cigars how I look at my beer. I'll consume less but better.
I've cut back on beer but I can't seem to cut back on cigars. Regardless, I never light one up unless it's worth it. I have literally thousands of cigars as a result of recent sales and I'm happy to smoke any of them...
I hate to rain on this parade but this cigar isn't worth smoking if it was free. I found human hair in one and the other wouldn't stay lit. I guess the moral of the story is to not get caught up in MSRPs.
Why is everyone concerned about putting cedar in their coolers? Just leave the cigars in the boxes they came in. If you have tons of singles, go get some cigar boxes from your local B&M. They should be free or $2 per at the most.
I've been smoking the V for about a year now (are they even a year old?) and I've found them all to be above average to outstanding. The dbl Robusto is a little tightly packed and the most inconsistent. The figurado about average while the belicoso has been great every time. My tastes...
Addiction obviously prefers CCs over NCs and that's fine. There's nothing to defend here and there's no use in trying to tell someone who believes different that CCs are the best.
I agree with the other guy that the reason your boxes don't sell too well is because they are complete boxes and...
I thoroughly enjoyed the one Habano I had. Great flavor, construction, all that. My issues are that it is a quick cigar regardless of what the press says. Also, it got uncomfortably close to my fingers pretty quick. I felt like I was nubbing it 20 minutes in. The ash held on through the...
I have heard that Jorge Padron named the #35 because that's how long it takes him to smoke one. His favorite Padron if I recall him saying (mine too....I've smoked them back to back a few times)..
Ding ding ding! This would only be for the OP as this cigar would make most newbie smokers probably gag. It is delicious and worth it but it's definitely not for everybody.
I can't help with why Pepin blends his cigars that way. Ask him...seriously, send him an email.
I will almost guarantee that Pepins will mellow with aging but we're talking 2 years or more. While the initial bite might be reduced, the entire flavor profile may mellow which makes the cigar...
I'm always up for a bomb, especially when the target has helped a hurricane victim (been there and done that!). Let me know the addy and the timing for when this thing goes down.
I'm curious...what is msrp on these? My B&M has them for $15 and the bigger one is $16....I passed. For my money, the premium fuentes are Hemingway maduro and GOF. I never thought I would happily spend $25 on a cigar but the GOF is just that good. I still prefer Padrons as a premium smoke...
I agree that the LFD Double Ligero is a butt kicker. However the only cigar that knocked me out was a Padron 1926 40th Anniversary. That cigar literally put me to bed about 10 minutes after I finished it. And I was on a full stomach.
Try one, they're excellent.
The Partagas is a known quantity...one of my favorites. I just had a Legends yellow and it was pretty decent.
Thinking more about the Graycliff, I can't believe it was so terrible. I guess Graycliffs are like Gurkhas...charge an astronomical price regardless of quality and they will come.
