Smoked my first Padilla today ... not impressed

Yeah, I probably won't dismiss the entire line. If an when one of those higher-end Padillas comes along, I'll force myself to smoke it. ;)

Smoked my first Padilla today ... not impressed

Bought a Padilla Hybrid in the Cigarfox deal a month or two ago and finally pulled it out today. Was really looking forward to this, since I've heard so many good things about the brand. But after smoking it, I just don't get the hype. The draw was too loose for me. The flavor was a bit flat...

    Thanks Cigar Fox

Got my 4 freebies today from the sampler offer, so CF came through. Very pleased with the transaction. I'll probably order again when I clear out some space.

    Thanks Cigar Fox

Got an email from CF today apologizing and saying they'd send the 4 cigars out right away. Will report back when they arrive.

    Thanks Cigar Fox

Got my 5+1 pack sampler today - packed up nicely with no damage. Unfortunatly, they didn't include the four freebies listed in the flyer (I'd put the code into two different places). I've sent an email. Will follow up with response.

    Thanks Cigar Fox

I got an R&J maduro and the flyer. Already ordered the 5-pack deal advertised there. Pretty good deal, really - lets me try some sticks I've been meaning to try.

    Free cigar from Cigar Fox

Regular or maduro? I really like the maduros. The naturals are merely okay.

    Free cigar from Cigar Fox

Got mine today - an R&J maduro. Nice. Also had a flyer for a freebie special on a 5-pack sampler. Will probably head over and give that a shot later. Seems like a nice site.

    Burnsville - Burn

Gimmie a hollar come winter and we'll hook up for a smoke. During the summer, I simply can't be pried away from my deck. ;)

    Angel 100's on Cbid

I got some of these on CBid last year and was rather underwhelmed. Not a lot of flavor to my taste and had a few burn problems. Not for me.

    Camcho Negro = Padron Anni???

I really wanted to do this, but I just had a little splurge on cbid and I just have to cut it off at some point. The wife is pretty cool about me buying cigars, but ... there are limits.

Thinking about trying Acids - advice?

A little update. I discovered that I had an Ambrosia cigar in my cooler -- don't remember how I got it (must have been a trade or maybe a Famous sampler). I apparently didn't realize at the time that it was a Drew infused creation, otherwise I wouldn't have put in in there. But since I've been...

Thinking about trying Acids - advice?

Good info here. Like I said, I don't go for flavored or infused smokes. I'm a red-blooded, Padron-smoking guy. Just have been reading about them for years and got the itch to give it a taste. Funny part is I'm sort of expecting not to like it. I'm headed to a shop here next week, I'll see if...

I really want to smoke a cigar...

Haha. Actually not too far off of what I did last week when I was congested. Didn't want to waste one on my muted palate, so I rearranged my desktop humidor just so I could have some nice "smell time."

Thinking about trying Acids - advice?

Hmm - that might not be a bad way to go. Minimal investment in the (very probable) case I'm not a fan.

Thinking about trying Acids - advice?

Yeah I had a Natural and rather enjoyed it - one of the things that encouraged me to try the Acids.

Thinking about trying Acids - advice?

Okay, I'm a sucker for catalog copy. But I gotta say, I've always been a bit intrigued. I don't smoke flavored or infused cigars, but ... I dunno ... I'm curious. So any Acid smokers out there who can tell me where to start? Obviously I don't want to be hammered over the head with botanicals...

Maybe I was wrong about Perdomo

I had the Corojo, which is a wrapper I really seem to favor.

Maybe I was wrong about Perdomo

I'd sworn them all off. Granted, I'll I'd smoked was a couple of Cabinets and one Slow-Aged. But they were SO bad that I didn't touch one for a good 2 years. Well, got one in a blind trade (the Habana line, a robusto). Was looking for something different the other day, so sat down with it, not...

Going To Cancun In Two Weeks Need Stogie Advice!

Here's a street vendor tip if you're wanting to make sure Cubans there are legit. Find a guy selling single Cohibas, for example. Ask him what one costs. Depending on size, etc. it'll be like 15-20 bucks (or higher). Offer him 12. Show him the twelve bucks. He'll say no. Walk away. If he lets...
