    Kauai Cigar Company

On the Big Island, I found 2 shops without looking too hard. The King Kamehameha Mall has a small liquor store with a small cigar selection. On the north tip of the island, in a small town called Hawi, is Mother's. They had a nice selection, though still a bit small. They had some of the Island...

    An observation about aged NCs

Not NEARLY enough, however many it is (yeah, I bought some off cbid once. Once!) :ss

    Does anyone not like Padron?

I didn't care much for any of the X000 series either, and I tried to give them a chance. I do like the Anniversary series though, the '64 more so than the '26. Joe

    Oliva Special "G"

Nice review; the camaroon wrapper is one of my favorites, but the maduro is good too. Joe

    viva las vegas!!!

Thanks Andrew. It's really something to be able to hang out with people you'd never otherwise cross paths with, just because of a love for cigars. It was great to get to meet you and Sam. My thanks to both of you for making time to hang out, and also for the cigar. CS and its members are the...

    viva las vegas!!!

Just a shout-out to the Vegas folks. I'll be here till Thursday morning. I'm getting ready to head over to Don Pablo now. Hit Casa Fuente late last night after I got here. I'm supposed to eat with our vendor tomorrow, but will probably be free after 8. Any suggestions on places to hit besides...

    How are these Holt's bundles

I bought a bundle of Fine Catch last month; it's not bad at all. I'm letting most of it sit a bit though. I'm going after some more, and will also try Top Hat as well.

    RP Vintage 90-92 Perfecto?

I picked up a '90 perfecto at Shwab's, in Lexington, KY a couple of weeks ago. VERY good cigar!

Decided to Pick up Something New to me

I think you'll enjoy the Benchmade, Ryan, especially at the price :tu. My local guy got them in a few weeks ago, and I really like them.

    All these Bundles from Holts

I tried a bundle of Fine Catch in the Bass size; it's pretty decent. Getting ready to order another, along with the Top Hat, based on a recommendation from a Gorilla here.

    Black Patch Cigars

Doc Stogie had a great interview on this company a little while back. Being a KY resident, I decided I needed to try them out and see if I could support a "local". We went to Lexington this past week, and my wife's uncle took me to a B&M called Shwab's, where I found this elusive brand (along...

    Evelio Robusto

Nice review! I've about finished my box of maduro robustos, from Mom's, and have been very pleased with them. I'm thinking of buying a box of natural torps next, if they have them. Joe

Bought a box of Flor Fina 858 Maduros today

I like them also, one of my first box purchases. I also like the corojo wrapper. My local B&M just got in some claro wrapper stock, so I picked up a few.

    Oliva V Lancero

My B&M got these, and a few other sizes, in this month, and I picked a few of the lanceros up. I smoked one Thursday, and I have to say I agree with you. Just not that impressive. I also didn't think it was very strong. I'll let the others sit a few weeks, and revisit them; might change my mind.

Interview: Eric McAnallen; Black Patch Cigars

Doc, that was VERY cool! Thank you for searching that guy out and talking to him. Gonna have to try some now. Joe

What brand as let you down the most?

I'm still fairly new to cigars, but so far: Montecristo (NC)-too expensive, especially for something so bland. RJY (NC)-See above Cohiba (NC)-not a bad cigar, but disappointing to pay well over $10 for what it is. Padron X000 series-not much taste to them for me. Joe

    Drew Estate Kahlu'a

Bax, I'd try letting one age, but the B&M has had this box for a LONG time already :ss. I concur on the Series V. He got them in a couple of weeks ago, finally, and I tried one right away. Loved it.

    Drew Estate Kahlu'a

This will be my second cigar review at CS. If my first one was on a superb cigar, this one goes 180 degrees, IMO. The cigar reviewed was a Drew Estate Kahlu'a, in what I guess was a toro shape, at approx 5 1/4" and maybe a 48 ring. On the outside, the stick looked good. When I pulled the cello...

    Big Island of Hawai'i Herf?

We were there for a visit at the beginning of the year; wish we could have got together. We stayed in Kona, at the King K. We absolutely LOVED the island. I did not bring any cigars, but ended up buying some at Mother's, in Hawi (nice area). Very expensive. Wish we lived there...
