    Humidification Beads: FAQs

A cigar out of the cello can touch the tube without a problem. Just make sure that you have dried the plastic tube off thoroughly when you have re-hydrated the beads.

Distilled water only on Heartfelt Beads as well as in the Hydra. PG solution will ultimately ruin both if you use it. David

    Humidification Beads: FAQs

Shake out the worst of the "dust" over a trash can then hydrate the beads to roughly 80-90% of the beads are clear and put them to work. Some times the beads get a little beat up in shipping but they will stil work just as well.

Thank for the concern, all is well I guess. My nephew was in a bad car accident but should recover OK. Thanks again.

    Humidification Beads: FAQs

The minumum recommended is 1/3 pound per 50 quarts but the more you use the better. A full pound would work well, split it in two half pound bags and put one bag in the bottom of one end and the other in the top of the other end. This will help balance the cooler rh.

The end caps are just press fit, they are not glued so with a little work they will slip off.

    Humidification Beads: FAQs

As soon as the beads become clear they have absorbed all they will, remeber to leave a few white. I would not leave the bowl in with them beyond that point since standing water has a tendancy of encouraging mold. As long as the beads are in a airtight container they will not give off their...

I have not tried this but I can't see why it would not work. It won't hurt the beads themselves.

    Mixing beads...

The "beads" the people are talking about are NOT what Shilala is talking about. They are talking about pre-conditioned beads not, for lack of a better word, "raw" silica beads. The product I sell is a pre-conditioned silica bead.

    Mixing beads...

I need to point out that what Shilala is talking about is not the product I sell. There is no conditioning step with my product and the rh cannot drift from the preset level no matter what rh is in the container you put them in. My beads cannot be conditioned to a different rh level. I don't...

As far as Heartfelt Humidity Beads are concerned Bob and Old Sailor are correct. The 70% beads will work to keep the rh up at 70% and the 65% beads will absorb the moisture the 70% beads give off. This will continue until the 70% beads are dry and the rh will drop to 65% and stay there until the...

    Humidification Beads: FAQs

Gotta say this is the first time I have been asked if icebrg water is good to use. I have to assume that there are minerals and such in iceberg water just like there is in any water but I have no idea if there is or not. I'll make you a deal...as long as you are up there and use iceberg water...

    Humidification Beads: FAQs

Don't add any more distilled water to the beads. You need to let them absorb the excess moisture in your humidor and let things settle down. The velcro is just for mounting it to the lid or side.

    Humidification Beads: FAQs

If you are really the high rh wise you do't need to ass any more distilled water. One question though, have you confirmed the accuracy of your hygrometer? Need to make sure that the reading you are getting is correct. There should have been two round velcro pads in the package. Were'nt they there?
