I agree. I make a South Carolina mustard base BBQ sauce. For pulled pork i like it better than red sauce. I like your smoker. I use a Weber Smokey Mountain. I have had it for about 5 years now and I have been really happy with it. Nice looking family too. Duane

:eevis, I can see right now we need to do a combo BBQ-Herf. Do you use Maple Sausage for your fatties?

    Any (meat) smokers out there?

Your right, putting meat in the fridge right after cooking is a no-no. But i think a couple hours rest in the cooler does wonders. Gives you some leeway on cooktime time too. A great appetizer are ABT's cooked on the smoker.

    Any (meat) smokers out there?

I havent did any pork all summer. But all this chatter about BBQ and I do want to give :eevis rub a try. The one I use is almost the same with a few mods. Armadillo Willy's Rub 1/4 C Turbinado (Sugar in the Raw) sugar 1/4 C Salt (My favorite is Diamond Kosher) 1/4 C Paprika (I have been...

    Any (meat) smokers out there?

:eevis has it pretty well down. Here is my general method: 1. Rub plain ole yellow mustard all over the pork butt and then sprinkle on the rub. You wont taste the mustard after it cooks and it helps hold on the rub plus helps form the "bark". I baste with a mixture of 1/2 Cup Apple Juice...

Sleazy Cigar Shop - Gives cigars a bad name?

Maybe it just the libertarian in me, but its his/their shop and they can run it however they seem fit. If it's a place that makes me feel uncomfortable then I wont go but i am not going to try and make them change their business. I wont try to stuff my beliefs down someone else's throat. We...

    Oust Fan substitutes or alternates???

For those of us who are just now or will be going the Coolerdor, etc route and with Oust fans no longer being produced and harder to find; what is the group consensus for a fan alternate? I am thinking the most viable would be a computer case fan. But I am not sure how to wire this... AC or...

    Big Green Egg

I have had the Weber Smokey Mountain for a few years now. It works great and is solid like most Weber grills. I can smoke Pork Butt on one load of charcoal (12hrs). There is a super website: The Virtual Weber Bullet that is awesome with videos, how-to's, and recipes. It has a great forum...

    Favorite Golf Course Smoke?

I was smoking some more expensive ones out of the humi. Then I realized after I had just missed a 2 foot putt for birdie or faded my drive into the woods I wasnt appreciating the fact that my cigar tasted like spice with chocolate overtones :). So i just bought a bundle of FoD Maduros for that...

    My first box/bundles of everyday's???

I sure appreciated everyone's opinion. It sound either would be a decent choice. I did buy the FoD's today only to make my budget go a wee bit farther cause I had to have these. The slope is getting steep

    My first box/bundles of everyday's???

I still consider myself a NOOB. So far i have purchased only singles. And with so many to try I am sure I will still buy a lot of singles. But I have found myself leaning toward Robustos maduros so I am thinking of picking up a box/bundle for yard work-golf-neighbor visits, etc. Just a less...

Which cigars to age? Noob question

Hi folks, Been here awhile listening and learning. It's fantastic site. Since I am an cigarette smoker I haven't jumped right in and have limited my cigars to 1-2 a week. But I find myself sliding down the slope. There are several B/M within an hour or so of home so i am always buying a...
