Exactly the reason why I moved on to stronger 'gars. I think that's the way it goes in this hobby! You start off strong and you end up puking. But start off mild, and eventually you want to start trying different things.

Not very long at all. Maybe the first third if it's lucky. Since the baby came along, smoke time is at a premium for me, so if the stick sux, it's gone and I'm grabbing another one pronto! Life's too short to suffer through bad stick!

Well, after smoking that RyJ Lancero, I gotta admit it was damned tasty. Maybe it was because it's been resting in my humi for who knows how long or if it was smaller gauge. Gonna have to go get more. I also admit that it was nice to be able to keep it in my mouth with out the smoke burning...

You're right. My problem is that I tend to stick with the first thing that I like. But since this is a hobby, I guess it wouldn't hurt to broaden my horizons a bit. Even though if I like them it's gonna be like a turbo boost down the slope!

I just found a Romeo y Juileta in the bottom of my humi. No idea when I bought it, so I'll fire it up and let you guys know the results!

Thanks for the reply guys. Looks like I'm off to the B&M for some smokes today. Gonna have to slip in to Bond mode and smuggle them into the house before the wife sees them!

I've been considering trying the Oliva Serie V Lancero. They seem to be plentiful in the B&Ms in these parts. And folks keep raving about them in the review section here.

I've been basically smoking large ring guage cigars for quite a while now (55 and larger). Am I missing anything by not smoking smaller ring guages, like say lanceros for example?

I'm going start out Saturday morning with an Oliva Serie O or maybe a 5 Vegas A. And then I'll end it with a DPG Blue or Black (I have them both in my humi).

Never heard of the dragonfire. Is it new? Pics?

I thought about that, but I didn't know if I'd ruin the cigar or not. I'll give it a shot tomorrow evening. Thanks for the advice!

I know I'm going to catch hell for this, but I also have one of these in my humidor, but haven't lit it yet because, oh jeez, because I'm not sure how to. Do I just lite the very tip and and keep drawing on it? Or do I lite the entire foot? How do you toast the foot when it seems only a toe is...

For me it just seemed like a natural progression. I went into the local B&M and told the guy I had been smoking 'gas station' cigars. He took pity on me and gifted me an Macanudo. Been on the downward slope ever since. Oh, and I've moved on to much stronger cigars since then.

Now THAT is what I call "thinking outside of the box"!

Ah, nope. But I'm not going to front, I started out with white owls, jewel hav a tampas and black and milds. Have to start somewhere I guess.
