    TNT JDN Alt Sorta Review

I got the Robusto Grande and have smoked enough JDN antanos to have a basis for comparision. The construction on this cigar was very good comparable to the real thing. The burn was a little uneven at the start and straightened up by itself. The smell of the wrapper didnt seem to me to have as...

    Sad cigars!

From the makers of Gran Habano comes a blend that brings melancholy flavors of cigars once made in Cuba. Medium-Bodied. This is a wonderful bundled cigar, and at this price, makes it one of the best deals around. http://www.atlanticcigar.com/grspecials.html

Cheap potent and good (recommendations please)

I am a fan of less expensive cigars. If I could afford to do it, I would smoke 2-3 JDN antanos, robusto grande or gran consul, everyday. Since I cant Im looking for some recommendations on cheap smokes with a kick. Anybody found some that they like?

Just ordered some tnt jdn alts

I know a couple of guys here like them a lot and I ordered them pretty much on that recommendation. Anybody not like them? :) Anyway the rubusto grande size is currently on sale for $32/bundle including shipping. The JDN Antano is currently my favorite cigar and I have high hopes for the alts.

    HDM dark sumatra sampler

Ran across this at jrcigars and ordered one. I thought this a really good price and wondered if the other hdm dark sumatra fans on the board were aware of it. No affiliation etc etc ... http://jrcigars.com/index.cfm?page=itemDetails&itemcode=HMDS8

Left the lid off my boxidor

So rushing out today I flipped open my boxidor (an a feunte cedar thing, works good, seems to hold humidity ok) to grab a few chicos to smoke on my breaks at work, got home 10 hours later, its still open, I forgot to close it. The drymistat beads are visibly depleted and the rh has been in the...

    Found a great lighter

The best I have owned in that it has so far lit every time I pressed the button. I have never had a zippo, ronson, or colibri that would do that. I have owned lighters that cost more than 10 times the cost of this one that didnt fullfill their function as well as this one does. It aint stylish...

    Suggestions on a sampler

I am looking to expand my horizons in a particular direction. The last two cigars that I smoked that I liked a lot were a HDM Dark Sumatra Ebano and a JDN Antano Grand Consul and ait struck me that they have some similarities in taste. Can anybody suggest a low to mid priced sampler of a cigar...

Size: 6 1/2 x 42 Shape: Lonsdale Wrapper: USA/Conn. Filler: D.R., Mex. Binder: Mexico Construction: 7.5/10 - a few prominent veins and a slightly dull apperance. Burn: 8/10 - slightly erratic in the first couple of inches, straightened out by...

    Awash in cheap stogies

Recently I ordered on a 2 fer deal at mikes 20 old fashioned #700 and 20 old fashioned #31, got an email right after that with a deal on Old fashioned hondurans with a freebie don deigo 3 pack, so I ordered 20 #3. So that makes 60 cheap stogies that arrived today. I still have about 25 of my...

    Just smoked my first punch

I liked it :) It was the magnum size 6x54 and it took a while for the flavor to get to an intensity that I liked, and the burn wasnt all that I could have hoped for, but it had a great flavor. There were woody, cedary notes in the cigar and also a great, almost metallic, tangy flavor. Is this...

Cigar value. Quality vs. marketing, packaging etc

I consider myself a noob. I have however smoked a few quality cigars, fuente camacho, hoyo, JDN, tats, punch. What taught me the most about value and quality vs. price were the cfo #7s (let sit for 3 months before smoking) and fdo cigars. These cigars are just about as good as any I have smoked...

Tale of 2 cigars HDM Sumatra / Reserva #7

I smoke two cigars today, an HDM sumatra espresso and a reserve #7. Both were good but all around the reserve #7 seemed like the better of the two to me. The HDM was smoked OTT about an hour after it arrived and construction and appearance wise was near perfect, its flavor was thin, it didnt...

    Ring Gauge / Flavor

I had an unexpected break from work weds. and went to the b&m to smoke for a while. I had read good things about the Sancho Panza double maduro La Mancha and they were priced right so I got one. I was sitting chatting with one of the owners who always smokes pretty narrow gauge (40 or so)...

    Are hygrometers obsolete?

If you have beads and keep them humidified, but not over humidified so that they can't absorb water, and you have sufficient beads to cover the cubic area of your container, who needs a hygrometer? I have a tupperdore, a container for longer term storage and an empty A. fuente cigar box that I...

    Sancho Panza extra feurte pamplona

Disclaimer: I have only been smoking cigars since a little before xmas, so I could be totally out in left field with this "review" I didn't post it in the reviews section because I am not sure that given my newbieness, I would necessarily want others to be guided by my impressions so YMMV. Had...

UPS guy brought me some FDO Corojos :)

I had smoked a couple of these and ordered a bundle and they came today! They are well constructed, if packed imo a little loose and unlike most of the other cigars I have smoked (mostly with cameroon or maduro wrappers) are not on the sweet side, but spicy. Actually they remind of a good...

    Do cigar smokers zone?

I have smoked a pipe for a while and every now and then if the stars are in alignment, and you are spiritually in tune, and if you have put on clean underwear that day, or for what ever reason, somtimes when you smoke a bowl of pipe tobacco a feeling of elation, transcendental well being, and...
