    Building a cabinet humi

It's not that tough man... Build a simple cabinet http://www.clubstogie.com/photo/showphoto.php/photo/1267/cat/500/ppuser/1870 Line it with 1/4" to 3/8" spanish cedar, build some lattice shelves, and add a CigarOasis XL AC powered humidification unit...

    mahogany questions

With the easy availability of Spanish cedar these days, I would not even consider building a humidor that was not Spanish cedar lined. Honduras mahog. makes for beautiful outer casework as it finishes beautifully. FWIW, the last batch of genuine Honduras mahogany I bought (June) ran about $6.00...

    Cohiba Robusto Praise the Lord!

Eef, PM me the measurement (distance)from screw to screw across the length of the handle. I've figured out a couple of things since doing that one. I'll make you a better one. I think we ought to attach it with a couple of 10-32 machine screws that go all the way through with a nut and lock...

    Photos/drawings for Humidor ver. 1.0

Absolutely I can, but at this point it would be for all intents and purposes a custom one-off and would not be cheap. Pm me if interested, Gordon

    Photos/drawings for Humidor ver. 1.0

A couple of people have asked for photos and drawings for the Humi ver.1.0. I have some rough dimensioned drawings and sections (these are not complete plans, but will give anyone with some woodworking experience enough to work from), and a bunch of digi photos ready to burn to disk. If you...

    Humidor 101

Excellent introductory treatise AAlmeter! "First, safety. I like getting bombed, but I don’t want to receive your cigar collection because you no longer have fingers to smoke with. Read up and learn to use a splitter, blade guard, push stick, stop block, etc. Wear your damn safety glasses too...

Yes and no, It's a bench shoulder plane, sometimes called a rabbeting plane, the design goes back to about 1910 if I recall corectly, but they're still making it today. That particular plane is about 20 yrs old and has a lot of shavings behind it. My great grandkids will be using it if anybody...

    Humidor version 1.0 completed...

Hey P-town, I don't really have dwg's for it as it is strictly a prototype, but I can send you digital photos and a dimensioned sketch if that would do the trick. None of this is rocket science. Lemme know, Gordon

EXXXXCELENT! I thought about that while building it, and I think you're right. I can add them pretty easily at this point, and I think I will. It's gonna take a little while to get this thing up to 65% here in New Mexico, so I haven't filled it yet. I'll add some slots on Monday. Thanks, Gordo

I'm assuming your humidors are at the house. A lot of folks seem to like some glass in their humi's, it would cetainly be easy enough to do. To me, putting the goods on display always seems to be a little ostentatious. This one is going in my office, and I don't neccesarily want to go through...

    Humidor version 1.0 completed...

As I posted on the New Gorrillas Forum, I am a cabinetmaker by profession, and I have run out of humidor space. I figured the obvious solution was to build what I wanted. To whit, a presentable classic humidor with room for about 200 sticks so that I could keep a range of vitolas handy...
