    Oliva V Lancero

Nice review, I smoked my first one last night and really enjoyed. It didn't have any draw or burn problems and I will be buying more of them. It's a very good cigar at a reasonable price. :tu

Looking for a "smooth" entrance to Bourbon

Sunday's Washington Post had an article on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/09/26/ST2008092602136.html?sid=ST2008092602136&s_pos=list

Make a recomendation for a visit to the local B&M!

I like to go to the review forum and make a list based on some of the more positive reviews and then try to find them at the B&M. :tu

Looking for a "smooth" entrance to Bourbon

Check the bourbon sticky on this forum, but you know there's a bourbon slope as well. :r My favorites are Eagle Rare 10, Knob Creek, and Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage and Woodford Reserve. :tu

    Esencia Corona Gorda 2008

It's a real nice smoke and I'm thinking I need to buy another box. :tu

Oliva Serie V-my first and not my last!

The wife and I smoked our first V torpedo last night and it was a really nice smoke. I have one lancero in the humidor yet to try. I'll have to get more of these. :tu

Anyone smoke a Pinar Del Rio

That's a nice looking cigar and I'm on my way to the NHC site to pickup some of the PDR samplers. :tu

    An observation about aged NCs

I would think that the laws of supply and demand are at work here. NCs are easy to come by and can be had from numerous vendors at pretty good prices. It is an almost continous supply with a questionable demand for aged NCs that keeps the prices lower. CCs on the other hand are much harder to...

La Aroma de Cuba Edicion Especial #4

I smoked a La Aroma de Cuba Edicion Especial #4 last night and was slightly disappointed. This is another new Don Pepin and I have smoked several of his new blends lately and enjoyed all of them. It's a 7 x 49 that is a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos and Ecuadorian sun grown wrapper. It's a nice...

How many visits to your local B&M before you are considered a regular?

I care because I go from being "can I help you" to "hey, how are you doing we got some new cigars you might like". On days when I want to browse around the humidor, they leave me alone to pick out what I want. Other days they're excited about the new cigars they got in and tell me what they...

    Newbie + Coolidor

Buy the cooler and then you can measure to see if the trays will fit. I like the Padron 3000s in both Natural and Maduro. You should check with Rob at Taboo as it looks like he has them in stock. Check in the retailers section for discount codes from Rob. :tu Click on link...

    Newbie + Coolidor

A bigger cooler is the way to go and get some beads to control the humidity. I use boxes that I got from my B&M for storage, so you probably won't need the trays. Get a digital hygrometer and your ready to go. :tu Next step, post an introduction New Gorilla Forum and start on down the slope. :ss

Article/blog: do wine and cigars mix?

I had a nice Zin the other night that went really well with the Esencia I was smoking, but I find it much harder to match a wine with cigars. Tried it with a differnt cigar the next night and it just didn't work out. The one wine that suprises me at how well goes with cigars is the Kim Crawford...

Jorge Padron @ Davidus in Urbana,MD

I'm working from my Baltimore office today and might be able to get there, but it depends on how early I can get away. The traffic across 70 is always heavy during the evening rush hour.

What's your rotation look like lately?

It's been changing a lot lately, but last weekend I went back to a lot of old favorites just to see if I still liked them. Labor Day was a Tatuaje run, smoked a white, red and brown. Mostly it's a Don Pepin or Padron with an Illusione thrown in every couple of days and Taboos on the golf course. :ss

What is your favorite Taboo line?

So far I like the Twist, Connecticut, Sumatra, Costa Rican and the HSG. :tu

    Atlantic Cigar

You have to call them to get the best price, don't go by their website. I find that they are usually cheaper and have boxes which the they don't list on their Internet site. :tu

    Padron Maduro vs PAM 26

The Padron 26 is smoother and richer from the start, but I prefer the PAM 64s over the 26. The Padron 3000 in either the natural or maduro are great smokes and get smoother as you smoke them. :ss
