    Rookie Palate?

I have read alot of people drink root beer while smoking...am I missing something? I typically only drink cabs...particularly Dominican Oaks (Napa)...$14.99 a bottle at my local total wine and more...drinks like a $40 bottle...I buy it by the case(s) and it keeps me sane!

    If you could go back

Still a NooB.....but, I try not to get caught up in ratings and other reviews. I smoke what fits my budget and enjoy the time it takes to smoke the stick. 1 hour alone smoking a bad stick beats 1 hour of my screaming wife and child any day.

    Rookie Palate?

Mullet - thanks...I knew this site would be alot of help. I do nose exhale...several times during the smoke. I like alot of tobacco and nicotine. To the wife's dismay and mine, I have been dipping Skoal for quite sometime and that may have my tastebuds all out of whack. I do know that the...

    Rookie Palate?

I have enjoyed several cigars but seem to have a hard time picking out the various nuances. Currently, I am really enjoying a 601 Blue Robusto, reading reviews at the same time, and still can't distinguish the cedar and cocoa that others report. Does it just take time to develop a palate or...

I am done with cigar bid

Sorry to hear about that GoodFella. I just won my first bid yesterday and checked my CC and everything looks right. They did combine my shipping as I requested shipping weekly. I haven't seen the shipment yet but that was only yesterday. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Not to deviate from my original post, but how do you determine what size cigar to buy? Is it whatever feels comforatable or does the blend of the cigar determine which size to buy? I see alot of reviews/ratings for a particular size and wonder how different the same cigar would taste in a...

Here is my situation. I am fairly new to smoking cigars on a regular basis. I normally buy an assortment (10 at a time) of cigars so that I can acquire a taste for what I like. However, I tend to buy the more expensisve cigars since I am buying singles. I would love to find a few go to...
