I have bought 5 humidors from CC and have been very pleased with all of them. I have 2 of the Cuban exotica and 2 of the Cuban elegance and 1 Clasico Rosa. They all seal well, are well made and have an excellent finish. The only thing is they don't hold quite what they are advertised to, but I...
I collect cheap butane lighters. I have all three flame styles, normal (candle), jet, and torch. I even have some that are all three in one and let you rotate a barrel to select which one you choose. Some of you say butane is pricey. Come on! Butane is dirt cheap. Four or five bucks a can and...
My wife smokes cigarettes and she doesn't mind my cigars or pipesmoking at all, I smoke in the house sitting right next to her every night. She has gotten to the point that that she can usually tell what cigar or pipe tobacco I am smoking from the smell. I guess I am lucky, I feel for those of...
One thing to remember here is that Spanish Cedar actually is not Cedar at all but is a form of Mahogany, it is only called Cedar because of its aromatic characteristics.
Cellophane is not like regular plastic, it is a different substance altogether, it is porous and will allow moisture in or out of it so there is no reason to take it off. It also allows for the exchange of gases necessary to age cigars. Leaving it on only protects your sticks. The only reason to...
I have a photo album with sticky material on the pages and clear overlays that I keep my bands in. I keep a separate journal on the computer with all my notes and a list of cigars that I have tried. I also keep a separate list of what I have in inventory. I have a modest collection (about 1200...
Remove the cigars from the humidor, put some paper towels in the bottom and place a hot (not quite boiling) cup or bowl of distilled water in the humidor and leave it closed up for 24 hours. The humidity may spike up near 80 - 90% during this time, but don't worry it will come down. Also make...
I lean a bit toward Nicaraguan, but I like it all. I will smoke just about anything you can roll up, as long as it's tobacco, I get wasted enough on nicotine, don't need no wacky tobacky.
I let it end it's life slowly as the glowing coal at the end gently ceases to burn ever so slowly into oblivion, giving way to the last vestiges of smoke and slowly going . . . going . . . gone, it peacefully ends it's existance and slips away with dignity. And if I'm in a hurry I just smash the...
Dude, listen to the suggestions about getting rid of that sponge, you will never get all your sticks equally humidified as long as you keep it. I know from experience. It sounds like you have got plenty of holes for circulation, you just need to get something that will not blast the smokes...
Got a few more sticks on the way, a father's day present I am not
supposed to know about, but a little bird (e-mail confirmation) told
me about. I won't let the wife and daughter know that I know what they
ordered though, I don't want to spoil their surprise. Looks like I'll
be getting some Onyx...
I put the cigar front and center if I'm taking a draw, I only put it in the corner if I'm using both hands for something else and need to hold the cigar for a minute or two, I only do this if I can't put it down anywhere.
I don't know about the Dominican, but the Nicaraguan's were great, only thing is I think I bought out most of what they had left. There is supposed to be a new Nicaraguan line coming out soon. I can't wait to try them.
Anyone ever do this?: When you cut the end off of your torpedo give it to your wife or kids and tell them it's a Hersheys kiss, just look out you might get hit with something!
