Sometimes I think I need a mallet and lard! Now I am buying boxes of small thin cigars to wedge into the empty spaces.

Not a bad idea. Many people freeze their cigars.

I just wedge them in wherever they will fit. Sometimes a rubber mallet helps a bit with the process. Occasionally I have to lube them up a bit with lard. That helps a lot.

Some of mine are new, and some are years or decades old.

I would recommend humidity beads. They come readily available in 60%, 65%, and 70%. Check www.heartfeltindustries.com I store my cigars at 65%, some at 67%. The ones I am going to smoke soon are kept at 60% for a few days before I smoke them. I keep a few that I'm about to smoke in my 'dry'...

I'm trying to remember the three names that go with REO (As I was told). Rocky Patel, Eddie Ortega and Eric Espinoza I think. One of them did the Series X also, which is a great but discontinued cigar.
