From Grape to Glass... a Syrah in progress

Cool thread, please keep us updated. Back in college, I brewed beer, but never ventured into wine. Looks fun.

    I need some advice

I've heard that the Ashton vsg's don't age very well after a year or so. I hear that they become one dimensional, so they are best smoked within a year from purchase. Personally, I find the vsg's a little strong for my taste, but that's the word on the street.

    My first Oliva V

Ok, everyone rants and raves about the famed "V." So naturally I had to try one. I generally smoke med-full body smokes so maybe it was a little to full bodied for me? Or, maybe I was just expecting to be blown away due to the popularity of the series, but overall I wasn't overly impressed...

So I bought a bottle of the new Zaya...

If you're into good rums from Trinidad, you have to try Angostura 1919. I had it at carnival a few years ago :tu. Trust, it is a top notch rum and makes you want to wine all night!

    Does anyone not like Padron?

I agree that the regular line is good, but not blow you away, best ever cigars (but they are also priced accordingly). However, I love the 64s and due to the 26's price, I haven't tasted one yet. Anyone have a few extra 26s that they would like to trade?

    Strongest Cigar You Have Smoked

Cuesta Rey Centro Fino Sungrown. Maybe it was because I hadn't eaten anything prior to the smoke, but that thing hit me like a ton of bricks. It had me nervous to some even a mild cigar the next day.
