    CigarBid Fun Fact?

"Win." Gotta wonder who convinced folks that buying stuff made you a winner. Ever go into Walmart and feel like you won a loaf of bread, a pair of pants and a car battery?

    CI catalog

I wonder if it's related to the order forms you see sometimes in magazines, etc. whereby you can "order" various catalogs. With the costs of production and mailing I can see companies not wanting to "give away" catalogs to potential customers who are that speculative.

Looking for a couple of recommendations...

I'd give her a Montesino. They're made by Fuente, but lighter. I like to have some around for the non-regular (would that be irregular?) smokers.

What NC is most like an ISOM stick?

I've not really smoked enough CC to know, but I'm told that the Tatuaje's come close (I think someone had already mentioned Don Pepin). Again, I don't have a good basis for comparison, but I had a Tatuaje "brown" the other night and really liked it.

    Looking for bundle recomendations

I like to have some Montesinos around. They're made by Fuente, but are lighter than their regular line. They seem to go over well with folks who aren't regular cigar smokers. I'll dip into 'em on the semi-rare occasion when I want something mild. They run around $60-70 for a box of 25 robustos...

    Best Shop in Nashville?

Jimmy-- Depending on how much time you have when you're in town and how much you want to travel, you might want to check out www.nashvillecigarclub.com. In addition to the forums, there are lists of shops with links to maps and events listings. Who knows, might end up herfing with some of the...

    Cheaper Cigars

IMHO less expensive cigars aren't always less tasty but tend to be less consistent from cigar to cigar. (Not to say that there aren't some absolute dog rockets out there for sure.) Poorer quality control I suppose. For example, I kind of like the Nestor Plasencia (NP) 2004. I picked up 25 for...

    el mejor espresso

I've tried both the expresso and the emerald. While my experience with the expresso was ok, I definitely prefer the emerald.

    My First Rocky Patel

I've tried the Fusion, but not the MM. I didn't really care for the Fusion (and I tend to like RP in general). I thought I could taste both the '90 and '92 (both of which I like while preferrring the '92), but thought in this case the total was less than the sum of its parts. I agree with...

Do you care if your S.O. doesn't keep up?

I think it's just kind of the ebb and flow of it all. These things tend to even out in the end. My wife and I are both pretty frugal. I went for years spending almost no money on myself, but have in the last few years cultivated a couple of hobbies, cigars being one, that I enjoy and now choose...

    I'm slipping! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

Go ahead and start looking for the coolers at the after season sales. That's my plan. Looks like you'll be there before long. Congrats.

    It finally happened

I agree with Illinoishoosier, go for the cooler. Once you have all the "display" storage you want (for me a "50" count at the office and a "200" count in my home office / man cave / fish room / smoking lounge, supplemented by an acrylic decanter for overflow everyday stuff) you're really talking...

How to shop for cigars on line

Maybe slightly off topic (for a thread this age maybe not), but a couple of suggestions for new guys using cigarbid.com (c-bid)(probably analgous for the other bidding sites as well): -- Price check cigars international (CI) before deciding what you'll pay. CI owns c-bid and it's amazing to...

Any organizational tips for the humidor? (labeling, cateloguing)

Sounds like there's a lot of OCD here. Maybe all the different cigars to try, analyze, etc. attracts people with those characteristics. I have a job that demands a lot of attention to detail and most other areas of my life are fairly "eat up" with my OCD so I decided that as I view this hobby as...
