Dear Friends,

I feel like a proud parent. Once again, I am able to offer El Rico Habano cigars to those who have enjoyed them so much.

When weather conditions and other circumstances in Nicaragua were less than ideal, I could no longer create my celebrated El Rico Habano. After four years, and many visits to the farms of Nicaragua, I’m happy to report that the character of the tobacco now meets the standards I set for El Rico Habano.

It would give me pleasure if you would accept two of my El Rico Habano cigars. They’re yours free. All I ask is that you smoke one cigar and share the other cigar with a friend.

With all due modesty, I think you’ll agree my uniquely strong and flavorful El Rico Habano cigars were worth waiting for.

Enjoy,

Ernesto Perez-Carrillo

Hey guys,
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but something strikes me as strange about the need for the photocopy of your driver's license, state ID card, or Passport. The explanation seems reasonable. I guess. But who's government is he referring to? U.S.? Nicaragua? The New Terrorist Republic of Connecticut? I think I'll pass on this otherwise very tempting offer.

Drc,

Yes, I feel the same way..The only government provisions on buying cigars in the states is you must be 18, not 21. I'll pass on this one. Something seems a little hokey about sending in your ID for two free cigars..

Hi guys - I understand your fears, it wasn;t my intention to incite them with this post. Ernesto contacted me wanting to make his new cigars availble for ClubStogie members to try. From that standpoint I can assure you it is not a scam.

None the less, I can still understand a persons apprehension with sending ID in this day and age....but at the same time understand his need to verify age.

....mixed feelings....

I'm very paranoid about sending any detailed information about my life via mail to someone unknown to me. There are too many lost and stolen identities that were documented already.
But, in the same breath, if this is totally legitimate...a hearty thank you is in order....your actions are refreshing!!

.....pardon my ramblings.

RE: ....mixed feelings....

Paul,

Thanks for letting us know..that should have been in my above post with my other meaningless rambling..I'm not paranoid, everyone just thinks I am.. :+

Just an FYI, I've gotten a couple free cigars from General Cigar before and they did the same thing. It's their proof that they are not sending the smokes to minors.

Just a reminder, those of you who are interested in this, the offer ends in a few days. Darn good cigars to, IMHO.
