Bye Bye Beetle

OCD FOG
Just an idea. When you take into account the incubation period of the dreaded tobacco beetle, seems to me that if you are buying boxes of sealed cigars that are at least a year old...seems as though those cigars would have to be bug free.

At any rate, I have frozen my last cigar.

My take on this is that the only way for there to be a viable egg, larva, pupa or adult after a year is that the life-cyle has already occurred in the box at least one time. I that case, you SHOULD be able to detect this by inspecting. I have started quarantining new stock for about 40 days and inspecting the balance of my inventory once per month. I currently do not freeze anything unless I find a problem. Of course, I reserve the right to change my process if I find myself in the midst of a large outbreak .
