Cigar Hammock!

Kaisersozei

Evolving Lead Gorilla
Ever since I got back into cigars, I've been using a stone ashtray we've had around for years. It's a nice heavy sucker with a wide rim (about an inch.) Unfortunately it is made for cigarettes and the slotted rests are far too small for a cigar, so it's generally a balancing act when I lay my cigar down while smoking.

This afternoon I was puttering around my workbench and came across a 6x6 square of tin that was leftover from a backsplash I installed in our kitchen last year. Looking at that piece of tin I began thinking about the Stinky brand ashtrays and a stroke of creativity hit me. In about an hour using just some tinsnips and solder, I fashioned my own little lightweight, portable cigar rest:

My wife calls it the Cigar Hammock. It's got some rough edges and isn't the prettiest thing, but I love it! I'm generally not that crafty, which is why I was so excited that I had to share. Thanks for looking. :ss

Very nice! Sand the edges, a little Never Dull polish, a little etching of initials, and one very unique bombing item from Kaisersozei. Very rare and wanted by all!

Dude, you did it all wrong!

You are supposed to say the 90 year old guy down the street made it, and come up with some sort of catch phrase from him; perhaps "nuf said".. Give a self proclaimed expert, perhaps a "Doc" one of them to "review" on his "blog" and you will have yourself a goldmine. You will be able to sell pennies of tin for $10 and shipping.

Nice idea though, really..
