Cigar Oasis, won't stop running, RH high

Hi all,

I got a new humidor from about a week ago. I also got the cigar oasis with it. I have been trying to season the humidor before putting any cigars in it, but the Oasis constantly runs now. At first it came on and off. The RH won't go down below the high 80's, and I calibrated both my hydrometers I have in there and they are accurate. I already tried adjusting the knob on the oasis, even to the lowest point all the way to the left. Is there any way to get it to stop running and lower the RH?

I don't have one, but can't you just pull the plug? I read on a board once that this really drains the resevoir. See what the humidity levels off at after a day. I just used distilled water in a shot glass. Took about 3 weeks. Then I added my humidifier. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a problem for Cigar Oasis. You might want to take it back for exchange. Mine is set one click below factory set and it keeps 68% RH perfect. I hear it run maybe once a day for three seconds. Your sensor may be bad. Just my opinion, I could be wrong :)

I agree with Jack. You may have a bad sensor. I turned mine down a notch and it keeps a steady 67%.

You gotta have a bad sensor, I have one in a 42 bottle wine cooler as the only humidification device along with a small computer fan, it's turned down almost all the way and keeps it right at 68%. Make em give you another one!!!!}>
