Yep, read that, don't think it COULD happen, but Clinton DID get in office TWICE!

Now, getting around the walk-in humidor is easy. If you have ever been to Heilman's in Monterey, ya know what I am talking about. LOOOOONG humidified counter displays........

Thanks for the heads up.

I wonder about this stuff at times. I mean look at those insane commercials by "the truth" that slam cigarette makers. You know, the ones with the rat in the subway and the one with the smarta** kids interviewing the tobacco execs in the lobby.

I know that tobacco has it's risks but where do these lobby groups of bored teens get off slamming a legal product? What if this were to happen to a product like Pepsi, Coke, Ford or GMC? I'll tell ya...massive lawsuit.

It seems that much of society has abandoned the rule of law when it comes to what some wackos consider social vices.

Oh well. I'm gonna go order some smokes........

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-16-02 AT 12:21 PM (CDT)]I'd like to see 'em outlaw the Wackos that push that stuff but then a whole slew of 'em are in the legislative system so that'll never happen :(

I think we still need to hound our elected officials on this issue. Unless we make noise now they will think they can get away with some legislation to make their lobbyist contributors happy. Nobody seems to fight for cigars, it is just the cigarette industry and the cigar industry is silently being added to the black list. Personally, I have met with officials, challenged them to a debate for a chance to dispute their exaggerated health claims but they have refused. I finally cornered one in the State Capital and smooth talked her into speaking with me for a bit. She suddenly ran out of time when she realized I was pro-tobacco and I shot down her argument that tobacco (cigars) were falling into the hands of children, and that cigars were being marketed to children Yeah right I said, and then I said to her as she was escorting me to the door "Why not go after McDonallds, they are marketing a harmful product directly to our children" and she asked what it was I was talking about. I answered "Cholesterol, in those happy meals there is a lot of cholesterol and it is a habit kids learn early in life via McDonalds and the happy meal-to eat junk food, and that leads to heart disease later in life. Cigarettes do the same thing-they kill, and so does cholesterol so why not go after McDonalds you hypocritical witch. I was escorted out by security, but my point was made. So, while you still have the freedom to have and to voice your opinion you should use it and blast congress and the state governing body with your thoughts. I think ICG has a link to the addresses and phone numbers for your appropriate official. If you live in MN, I think you should make note of Bill Luther, Phylis Kahn, and even a Republican named Abraham or Abram I can't remember which anymore, but they are some goggle box do-gooders out to squash our freedom. I think if they had it their way it would be illegal to smoke in your house or in your car, and I would not doubt it if someone told me they were working on a bill to do just that right now. Get these guys/gals to stop wasting your money on such nonsense and put their time to work for you fixing such things as government waste and corruption within their own ranks. Ok, time to step down off the podium lol
