distilled water humidification...

man, am i bored at work today. this must be the third or fourth thread i've created.

anyway, i am putting together a tupperdor, and i will soon be ordering some heartfelt beads. but in the meantime, as i have no humidification device, i was wondering if i could just put a cup of distilled water in the container. would that work? or would it over-humidify everything?

I think that you are asking for trouble, since the cigars could absorb quite a bit more than you want them too.

If you can, swing by a B&M and pick up some humidipaks as they are great for small spaces. You will be able to use them when you travel, send bombs, etc. as well.

A moist paper towel in an open baggie will work temporarily. Do you have a digital hygrometer? Even if you get a cheap one from WalMart its better than nothing. :2

after work i went to wal-mart and picked up a tupperware container and one of their 7-dollar hygrometers, so i'm set on that end. now i just need to get some beads or something and i'll be in business

A cap full of water will work, but the humidity will depend on the temperature. It's also easily spillable. Put a paper towel inside of the cap to absorb the water and put it in a 68~ degree place and keep your eyes on the humidity.

Or you could go to a B&M and pick up a cheap Boveda.
