Found a new everyday cigar:

parafumar

ChestBeater
Rocky Patel Edge Maduro (Toro). Very nice cigar, full bodied, but not overly complex (hence no review). Burned nicely, nice draw - wrapper was a little 'veiny' but hey, $5 per stick so that is to be expected.

If you are a veteran, you should have no issues, but a newbie / mild and medium smoker would want a meal in the stomach.

Accompanied it with sweet tea, and smoked it in the morning. Looks like the 2 I have left need to get some friends on my next trip to the B&M.

This may become my prime 'everyday' stick if the others are consistent. We shall see.

I concur and now you have stepped into the slippery world of RP where other cigars await your tastebuds. I have been an avid RP fan for the last couple of years and have one humidor saved exclusively for RP cigars and wouldn't you know, the humi is a RP humidor. I have been bitten very hard!

Just as a shove down the slope, I would recommend the RP Liga "A" from Cigars International. It is a RP Edge "second" meaning the wrapper had a minor color flaw or other such stuff. They are still consistently a great smoke, and I believe they are around 45 bucks for a bundle of 15 which turns out to be about 3 bucks a stick! I am almost through my first bundle, not a bad stick in there.

:tpd: I consistently get them on CS for about $30 so it is down to $2/stick.

Ive had one of these in my humi for a couple months now... I think you inspired me to try it tonight.

hmmm, so - same stick, just different name due to a color flaw? Works for me. I am going to char the wrapper anyway...

Yes, basically. If you are not familiar with seconds, basically cigar manufacturers maintain high quality control, therefor many cigars which don't quite meet the grade (usually due to cosmetic flaws, not related to smokeability) get thrown out. A good many manufacturers will sell these rejects or "seconds" to retailers to sell under a different name or as manufacturer seconds.

I find I enjoy a good number of factory seconds just as much as firsts, even better at the price tag!

If you like those try the Rocky Patel Juniors Maduro's.

Famous runs sales all the time and they can be had for about 30 bucks or less for 40 of them. They are small, Short Panatela (4 x 38) but make a great quick smoke. I keep a few with me at work all the time.
