Has anyone dismantled a Vinotemp?

I have an 'armoire' size humidor and am looking to add thermoelectric cooling to keep the AC bill down. I have done all the research, and have found a list of parts that is 'all I need' but it is a little bulkier than I would like.

Has anyone taken apart their Vino? If so, any pictures? I am thinking a possible retrofit may be what the doctor ordered...

Peltier coolers are designed "per volume". That means you'd have to figure the volume of your armoire and the volume of the vinotemp and see what you need.
If the armoire is 3 times the volume of a 28 bottle vino, you'd need to scavenge three coils to handle the armoire's volume.
You'd also have to make provisions to deal with condensate.
Add to that the armoire needs to be airtight and insulated and you've got a hell of a project ahead of you.
Vinotemp offers some large coolers that might be more suited to what you're doing. Check out their website.

I should have mentioned that yes, I've had one down to pieces and I have a small wine cooler pulled apart on my bench right now. :)
I had the service manual for the 28ct vino in .pdf format and now I can't find it. That'd help you out bunches. I'll keep looking for it...

Let me know if you find the manual - would be great... was hoping to run across a couple (one on each side, 2 door humi), controls would be internal).

The armoire Humi is already set up (will try to post a pic later)... ambient air temp is approx 74F up there, but I have an additional AC on the exterior that is keeping it at around 70F internally. I found a peltier unit online, but could not justify the purchase as it was more for an industrial setup.

As for internally, I am running beads and a moist-n-air setup, so the condensate would simply drain back into the moist-n-air tank.

beauty - nice pictures there.

I think I need to find a couple VT28s that have external damage and give it a go...

Another option, depending on where your cabinet is, would be a portable AC unit. I have one in my smoking room and have it hooked up to a timer. Works flawlessly :tu

That is kind of what I have going on, but I would like a non-compressor option, built in to the cab
