Humidification Beads: FAQs

Silly question but....Viper, how do the ends on the tubes come apart? I dont want to break the tube but I am thinking about using a mesh bag instead of the tube. How do I get my beads out?! :r

the ends will pull off, you may have to twist it alittle.:tu

The end caps are just press fit, they are not glued so with a little work they will slip off.

Great information. I am going to use these for my first coolidor. Any advise or suggestions for using a 120 quart cooler?

The minumum recommended is 1/3 pound per 50 quarts but the more you use the better. A full pound would work well, split it in two half pound bags and put one bag in the bottom of one end and the other in the top of the other end. This will help balance the cooler rh.

I decided to use some mesh bags for my 2 ounces of 65% beads, and I was wondering if having a wet bead bag next to my dry bead bag would not work. Should I put the dry beads on the other side of my humi or is next to each other fine?

My humi is a 50ct and about 3/4 full.

It will still work, but I would put your wet on one side and the dry the other. You don't want the dry beads absorbing all the moisture from the wet beads and becoming wet. That defeats the purpose of the dry beads. :2

I was in the process of ordering some beads when I saw this:

Kill the fairies and tell them to quit foking with your smokes!!!:tu

Seriously, once you spray them so that about 70pct turn clear the dust should stick. Or you can shake the bag a bit before you moisten them.:2

Shake out the worst of the "dust" over a trash can then hydrate the beads to roughly 80-90% of the beads are clear and put them to work.

Some times the beads get a little beat up in shipping but they will stil work just as well.

I don't have access to distilled water but I can get sterile water. Would there be any problem with that substitution?
