Humidor Question

I moved into an apartment recently and I noticed that my humidor has raised in humidity. I took out the humidifier and it stays at 70-72. I was thinking about getting some 65 beads, but I am just wondering. Will the beads regulate the humidity down to 65?

Indeed they will.

Beads are a great product and release or absorb RH.

Try heartfelt or cigarmony both will do you up right.

PS don't get hung up on RH 70 is fine

Get yourself a solid digital (digital in case you missed that) hygro when you putting your order in and maybe a calibration kit.

:tpd: I would pick up some 65% beads from Heartfelt. The beads are worry free.

Also, if you are in a panic about the rh level, you can put a shot glass of DampRid in the humidor and it will drop the rh to a level where the beads will have to raise it to 65%. Seeing as you are from the great state of Texas, maybe the ambient rh is affecting the humidor. I would consider checking it for leakage.

The RH Beads will lower your RH but 70% RH is fine. It all really depends on if you like you smokes drier or not. :tu

I would suggest getting a digital hygrometer and calibrating it, if you already don't have one.

I hope this helps

Funny how that works. A humidor is affected by its environment. When you move it, it has to adjust to its new environment. With beads you would probably never know it was happening other than perhaps odd re-charging schedules. In my pre-bead days I had to re-season a humidor that was moved.

I have also heard great things about user Shilala's beads - I am in the process of ordering some from him as we speak!

I too have just moved. Over the last few days, my humi has reached levels of as high as 75 RH. I have taken out the humidification device completely and left the lid open and it doesn't drop. I do not have beads right now, but will order some as soon as the next opportunity arises. Any reccomendations on getting the RH down to normal levels in the meantime? The humi has been at the new house for 4 days now.

:tu Usually seems much easier to raise humidity rather than lower it. I added what's in blue.
