I finally found a cigar I LOVE...

... and the best part is that it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.
It is the Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon. (can be had for <$4 a stick)

I have now had three of these... one was over a year ago, and I hated the flavor!
About a week ago, I was going on a short car trip and needed something that I wouldn't feel bad about putting out early, so I grabbed another 1916 from the humi.

After lighting it up, I found that everything I had hated before was really pleasing now!
The last one was last night and it was even better than expected. I definitely like these more than the padron 64's or any of my fuentes..

Now I can't get the smoke off my mind. Its flavor is really unique and I will have to take the time to write a real review after I smoke one more. I have a small package of them waiting for me after class today (Thanks to smoking5!!)

I guess the reason I am posting this is because I am really excited - after 2 years, I finally find a smoke I am excited about! Also, I think its cool to see how my palate changed over just 1 short year. I went from hating the flavor, to loving it. I can't wait to see where the slope takes me next:D

My pallet has done the same. It went from loving mild smokes to nothing but full bodied to certain mild and almost everything and anything full bodied to me only buying certain smokes. I am very picky now with my smokes and find myself looking for good deals on only those certain ones and flying past insanely good deals on others that i don't like anymore.

Cool. That’s what’s the chase is all about …finding that cigar that makes you want to do backflips. Congrats on finding it…especially at that price point!! I’ve had many that have come close, but am still searching for the Holy Grail. :ss

Well, glad I could help shove you further down the slope!:tu

FYI, Cigars Int'l has the box (25) of Robustos for $73.00 everyday - combined with the free shipping code, that's the best price.
Second best is Serious Cigars, at $76/box & Free Shipping everyday.
Then again, there's always (gasp!) CigarBid.:ss

I was driving home tonight smoking a Torano Exodus 1959 silver edition corona gorda and commenting to myself what awesome cigar this is and how reasonably priced they are. Glad I'm not alone at thinking they are a great bang for the buck.

Torano is a great line, Ive yet to have one i dont like, Casa isnt my favorite but its a good yard gar.

Whoo for torano! and Im a huge fan of the 1916 great smoke!

I really liked the Torano Exodus 1959 silver edition as well as the Torano Virtuoso. I have one Torano left in the humi that will be smoked soon enough.

I smoked a Carlos Torano 1916 a couple of days ago. I enjoyed it.
It did get a little stronger than I like toward the end but overall it was good.
:ss

I didn't care for the 1916 I had, but I'm saving one to see how it does after some more rest. I haven't really liked the other Cameroon wrapped cigars I've tried except for Oliva G. Come to think of it, those had a little more down time than the other Cameroons I've tried.

I enjoyed the Casa Torano for a mild stick, but my favorite Torano (so far) has to be the Virtuoso. I just love that rich, sweet tobacco flavor....yummmmm.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.This cigar got ratings in the upper 90's from CA a few years ago, whatever that means. I remember trying it back then and I was not impressed. I've tried the Virtuoso line as well and it was OK. I really don't find the Toranos to be my cup of tea.

If you like these try the Oliva G Special G. It has that great Cameroon flavor in a quick smoke and is also resonably priced. The H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon is also a great cameroon smoke.
