Is wood needed inside a tupperdor?

Man O' Gar
I tried a couple searches, and I see it's highly recommended that a coolerdor/tupperador have some Spanish cedar inside. But is it needed?

I'm using a plastic box (Pelican case) that has a little foam inside, RH control, but no wood. It's a smaller box so if I added some wood it would only be lining the bottom of the box. Is it worth it or should I leave it just plastic & foam?

you only need to think about adding wood if the humidity is fluctuating a lot.

Nope, it's not required although it is a good idea if you are going to be opening your cooler/tupperdor frequently since the cedar does help maintain the humidity a little. It also smells very nice. I find that keeping the cigars in my cooler inside cigar boxes that are lined with cedar works very well.

Yeah, it doesn't have to be cedar, or wood that beeing the point. As long as humidity is constant, no worries. Ye could also use beads if the fluctuation is not too drastic.

my local B&M gave me a few seperater sheets from cigar boxes, so I added them to the bottom of the box :tu
