New Orleans Cigar Factory

madurolover, thanks for the complement.
I was thinking the same about spec's, specially since I called to ask for an Ashton Maduro, and they didn't even have it! I was planning on going to briar shoppe, but I read a review about it being pricey. But then again I should go and see it for myself. The one on richmond is also close to me, i'm on westheimer and fountain view. I heard I should buy in pairs and smoke one now, and another in 6 months to see how it ages, is that a good approach?

thanks guys!

great approach. also, you can buy a notebook and keep tasting notes to compare what you like, dislike about each stick both fresh and in a few months. I did this when I started and used one of the cigar site's tools for an inventory spreadsheet. I also taped the cigar band in the notebook. a journal notebook works great for it.

Welcome to Club Stogie. You have gotten plenty of good advise already so I am going to keep my mouth shut. :tu

Thanks for all the advice guys. Earlier I read a review on a DPG cuban classic. I'm thinking about going to the new shop that I was advised and see if I can find one.

Thanks a lot guys

The Cigar Factory rolls some good sticks but I've found that they are better if you take them home and let them age for a while. The ones I've had fresh from the shelf were ok but the ones I put in my humidor and let sit for two months were very good.

Hi Guys,
This is officially my first post on CS!:chk
I started smoking cigars in June, and just started smoking seriously, maybe a month and a half ago. Pretty much anything I have right now is new to me. This past weekend I was in New Orleans and I went to the Cigar Factory and got a 10 cigar sampler. I had a couple of questions:
1 - Any Recommendations on how to learn about cigars and more?
2 - was the 10 cigar sampler a good decision?

Thanks,
:cb

1) Try some samplers to see what you like.
2) If you like the smokes, yes.

FWIW, my son's girlfriend brought back a box of 10 from the NOCF, I've had two and liked them both. I did a review on this one - Review: Cigar Factory New Orleans - Plantation Reserve Churchill

Great smokes! I always try to pick up a Tres Hermanos and a beer
at Crescent City Brewhouse whenever I'm in the French Quarter. :tu
