Nibo Triple Jet Lighter (with video)

A close friend, dennq (who I recently got to sign up to CS!) surprised me out of the blue with a nice Nibo triple jet lighter "for those big cigars". :)

I'm not sure which model it is. It's brushed aluminum and chrome. It has quite a good heft to it. When I flipped open the top lid, I was surprised to see a mirror inside of the lid. This was an unexpected nice touch. The three burners looks rather large, and the jets make an impressive sound once lit! There's also a cigar punch cutter on the bottom that flips out too. I'm sure this thing will drink the fuel, but since I only smoke 1-2 sticks per day, this shouldn't be an issue. Overall a very pleasant surprise and a nice lighter!! Thanks dennq !!!!

My digital camera died, so instead of pics I've made a very brief video. Enjoy!

Looks real nice. I use a Prometheus that has a very similar look and love it. After receiving several free with purchase ones that wouldn't lite. I hear great things about Nibo.

When I first started this hobby I bought a Nibo. It lasted for exactly 8 cigars.
I took it back to the shop and they gave me a replacement which lasted about 2 months. After that I just went ahead and got a Ronson Jetlite. Been using it for a couple of years and it has never failed. I had bad luck with the Nibo. I hope that yours turns out to be a great lighter for you.

That sounds like every Colibri I have ever owned (3-total) :ssThat is why i decided to keep it old school & stick with matches.:chk

You are very welcome RRocket. How about a video of that lighter and a big stogie in action...:ss

Only had my Nibo like a month now. It's the dual jet Space 6 model. At first I had problems with it going out and not lighting every click but I adjusted the flame height and it's been a whole lot better since. I've also purged and refilled it. Works almost perfect now - there's still the rare "click twice to get it lit". Overall I like it but am now realizing I'd really prefer a single jet. One reason obviously is it sucks up a ton of fuel and doesn't have large tank so it runs out relatively quick. But, the main reason is I'm finding the dual jet covers a bit too wide of an area. Sometimes you can start singeing the wrapper when lighting. I think it's more efficient to move a single jet around the foot and evenly light it.

I don't really like lighters with more than 2 jets at most, but has anybody ever come across a 5-jet torch lighter? My local B&M has one for shop/customer use, and we call it the "Lightsaber" because it's HUGE, chrome and it'll light whatever you throw at it. It's seriously half the size of a brick and it's the coolest damned thing ever.

I have the blazer insert and it has performed fine with triple refined butane...however I don't like the fact that it takes a few clicks to normally get it going.

I just purchased a nibo recently and it is the biggest POS lighter I have ever owned. It would ignite especially with tons of tweaking and Matt's lighter fix...and it has already had several pieces fall off within the first day of use. I'm thinking my next purchase will be either a lotus table lighter or something similar to the hand held ronson that I probably can get at home depot or something ergonomically similar.

I now resort to plain 'ol matches when the opportunity presents itself...because I have found that the high tech lighters are not dependable and matches provide a consistent light burn every time.

I honestly can't comment on those two as I've never used them, but seriously... if you want to get one lighter and forget about the lighter dilemma get a Blazer PB-207! Your insert might have dissappointed, though many here swear by them and I personally haven't used it but I can completely attest to the awesomness of the PB-207. It lights on every click! Burns seriously hot - lights my stogies faster than my dual torch Nibo. Also it has a huge gas tank. I got the clear one so I could easily see the fuel level. It's lasts forever with each filling. Here's a link, it's like the third one down:

You can also search for PB-207 here on CS to see all the praise ;)
