Ronson JetLite Torch Lighter

Was thinking about purchasing one of the more expensive lighters but I saw this thread and gave the Ronson a try. Can't beat $3.

I recently replaced my old standby with a Xicar lighter and it was a bit of a joke. Works when it's 100% full, then just makes clicking noises.

The Ronson Bob gave me on the other hand fires up every time like a champ.

WTG Bob and thanks again for a lighter that actually lights my cigars.

Funny thing is on the third refill my Ronson gave up the ghost on me. But my Xikar I've had for about a year has never given me a problem. :ss

You get what you pay for and for three bucks you can't beat them. I own several and always have two with me. Aubuchon Hardware has them for $4.

Found them at my local WalMart couple weeks ago. Picked up four of them. So far the first one is working great. Gave one to my dad, he had a Nibo that was always giving him problems.

Steve, I have a replacement for you. :D

Ronson's have a 1 yr warranty. The back of the package says just purge the lighter and send in for a replacement. No receipt needed.

My local Walmart doesn't carry them...I picked up mine in Wichita a year or so ago. I love the dang thing & I have maybe a coupla dozen torches laying around. I have a handful that actually work (I've got one of those fancy Colibris with the cutter that flips out...what a piece of junk).

I've carried this one around in my pocket so much that the metal plating is beginning to wear off the outside in places. It looks like copper under there. If so, they should release one without the metal plating...I think a copper colored Ronson would appeal to me.

Aloha Gorillas,

I literally live on a deserted island where its (almost) impossible to find anything, let alone specialty stuff like lighters.

Any chance one of you guys would be willing to buy one for me on your next trip to Wallyworld and drop it in an envelope for me?

I would be SUPER DUPER appreciative!!!!

PM me, or email me!

Mahalo,

I'll probably have to buy my next one online. You can go to www.ronsonstore.com & click on the jetlite tab. I think they are selling them for $5.50 right now.

Good luck. :)

I bought 4 or 5 of these at walmart, but I've only had to take one out of the package, been going strong for 2 years now.

CVS also sells these, but you have to ask clerk for them....they get stolen quickly so they keep them behind the counter....Cost there is 4.25

You mean like this?

Even the copper color is starting to wear away on mine. Still lights on the first click every time. :tu

To whom it may concern.... if you're having issues getting your Ronson (or other piezo igniter) to light properly, try angling "sparky" slightly upwards, away from the burner. I did that with mine and afterwards, what used to take 6 to 10 tries getting it lit now lights 99% of the time on the first try. Give it a whirl.

Lighters that work this well are never this cheap. I have two and one hasn' left the pakagin yet, and I don't think it will very soon.
